Vähän tuntuu sille että tänä yönä ei uni tule kun kämppä alkaa taas muistuttaa tropiikkia, hyttyset vaan puuttuu (thank goodness!). Esittelenpä tässä sitten aikani kuluksi Savo Vintagessa tehdyt ostokset. Vaatteita en taaskaan jaksanut alkaa sovittelemaan vaan tyydyin penkomaan muita kasoja. Löysin yhdestä pöydästä silkinpehmeät saumasukat (jälkeenpäin ajateltuna olis voinu ostaa useammatkin kun niitä kerran oli tarjolla edulliseen hintaan). Samasta pöydästä ostin paketillisen ecrun sävyistä kirjontalankaa sekä mystisen työkalun jonka käyttötarkoitusta edes sen myyjä ei osannut kertoa. Itse epäilen sen olevan kirjontatyökalu jolla joko venytetään kirjailtavaa reikää kankaaseen tai estetään kirjontalangan kiertyminen solmulle. Jos joku asiantuntija tietää tarkalleen niin paljastakoon tietonsa heti! Viimeinen ostos oli Simplicityn vintage-kaava. Myyjän mukaan 50-lukuinen jota kyllä kovasti epäilin. Etsinkin sen samantien Pattern Wikistä ja 40-luvun puolellehan tuo sijoittuu kuten arvelinkin.

It seems that sleeping won’t be possible tonight since our apartment feels like it’s in tropic, only the mosquitos are missing (thank goodness!). So to spend my time I will show you what I found from Savo Vintage fair last weekend. I didn’t bother with cloth fitting so instead I was digging other piles of stuff. From one stand I found silky feel seamed stockings (afterwards I could have bought more since there were several available and they were cheap). From the same stand I got whole package of ecru embroidery floss and mysterious white tool. Even the person selling it didn’t know what it was. I am assuming it is either for stretching a hole into embroidery fabric or laying tool for preventing embroidery floss tangling. If someone has exact information please hand it forward immediately. My last purchase was Simplicity vintage pattern. Salesperson was suggesting it was from 50’s but I thought rather 40’s. So I checked it from Pattern Wiki and it turned out to be 1948.
Wow, it’s that hot in Finland? I have no ideas about your tool.

superheidi – well, it’s not exactly that hot, but for person who can barely stand 20 degrees of Celcius, it is a pure torture. I think it’s around 25 of Celcius atm. They have forecasted tropical nights for the rest of the week. Last summer was awfull, 30 degrees in the shade for weeks and weeks. This summer has been a little easier, but still warmer than usual. And even though not very hot, it quite often gets very muggy and close. That kind of weather makes me feel drowsy and rather wornout.
I haven’t been collecting vintage patterns for long since I very rarely use ready-made patterns. I usually like to draft my own patterns. But now I have come to the realisation that it might be handy to have them for getting ideas and help for pattern drafting. Have to see what I’m going to do with this one :)
And here we’re having very British weather right now, I almost feel like sewing for autumn!
I don’t live in in the UK, but it’s just this Great British Summer-weather. :-)
superheidi – I know what you mean, we usually have summer pretty much like that. Temperatures stay around 18-25 degrees, quite often clowdy and little bit or rain every now and then, although we don’t get as fast weather change than in UK where you can have all sorts of weather within couple hours. But I think the climate has been changing lately. Past couple winters have been quite snowy and summers very warm and muggy. Me not like.

Hei. Tuo mystinen työkalu liittyy juurikin kirjontaan. tähän hätään sen nimeä muista, mutta sillä saa tehtyä reikäkirjonnassa reikiä, ilman että kankaan langat menee poikki.
Sirkku – Näin minä juuri ajattelinkin ja siitä myyjällekin mainitsin mutta hän ei osannut sanoa juuta eikä jaata. Toisaalta tuo muistuttaa kovasti mainitsemaani “laying tool”-nimistä välinettä (en tiedä onko tälle suomenkielistä nimeä) jolla estetään kirjailulangan kiertyminen solmuun, joskin näyttäisi olevan lyhyempi. Mutta toimii varmasti kummassakin tarkoituksessa ja sellaiseen hommaan sen ostinkin. Kiitos vastauksesta :D
