Hattuja, perhosia ja muuta sälää / Hats, butterflies and other stuff

Vilautanpa teille vähän mitä on tullut tässä parin päivän sisään löydettyä. Kesällä torstaisin Salon kaupungissa järjestetään iltatori, jossa on myynnissä normaalin toritavaran lisäksi kirpputoritavaraa.

Kuvallisessa muodossa tosin. Mutta se pitänee ehkä jättää huomiseen.

Let me show you some of my most recent finds. During summer the town of Salo organizes evening market every thrusday. They sell ordinary market place goods, like vegetables and flowers, but you can also go through dozens and dozens of thrift find tables. You can make reasonably priced finds there. We drove there for the evening and didn’t get disappointed this time either. I found couple hats from Salo Theater stall and some fringes from another stall. Surprisingly we also found new tenants to our butterfly wall.

During the weekend there was held traditional Restaurantapäivät, swap meet  organized by local mobilists (those who renovate vintage cars). I found leather briefcase I’ve been looking for quite some time, additions to my vintage snap button stash (they are better than new snap buttons) and yellow 20’s (or early 30’s) silk crepe summer dress. Dress is very fine fabric and is a bit frayed on couple spots. It requires some mending and reinforcing before I can use it. However it was so cheap and unusual find that I just had to pick it up.

I’m trying also to do some sort of pictorial post about Restauranta soon, perhaps tomorrow.

Puku ei henkarissa näytä oikein miltään /
As usual the dress doesn’t really seem much on the hanger.

  1. I’ve like the graphics on old sewing supplies. So pretty. Those butterflies are also pretty

thorne garnet – Indeed they are, that is one reason why I like to buy old sewing supplies. We still need to figure out where the butterflies are going on the wall.
