On pitänyt postata asukuvia. Pitänyt ja pitänyt. En ole saanut aikaiseksi eikä ole oikein huvittanutkaan. On tehnyt mieli ottaa kunnon asukuvia mutta jotenkin sen on jäänyt. Isäntä on ollut pitkällä sairauslomalla hartiasärkyjen takia ja se on vaikuttanut minunkin fiiliksiin. Aamuisin ei ole jaksanut meikata eikä laittaa tukkaa, iltaisin ei ole huvittanut muuta kuin kyhjöttää sohvalla. Ja työtkin ovat olleet kuin tervanjuontia.
Mutta kevät on täällä. Sen tietää siitä että koiranpaskakasat ovat tulleet esiin sulavan lumen alta ja allergiaoireet ovat taas hyrähtäneet käyntiin katupölyn ja Euroopasta tuulen mukana lentävän siitepölyn ansiosta. Siksi haaveilenkin jo kesästä ja kärpäsistä (ja leudon leppeistä kesäpäivistä, kirotut olkoot polttavat hellepäivät kun painostava ilma keittelee migreeninsiemeniä). Pardon me nämä tuhnuiset kännykuvat jälleen kerran. Lupaan parantaa tapani.. ehkä. Enkä jaksanut edes pyyhkiä pölyjä peilistä. Tässä kuitenkin päivän nasu ja pippuritweedhameeni jonka helmaa pidensin sen verran kuin varaa oli, eli noin nelisen senttiä. Se vaan tuntui hyvältä ajatukselta näin kesän kynnyksellä.

I keep meaning to post outfit photos. Keep meaning and keep meaning. I haven’t had the time nor the energy. I have felt like taking proper outfit photos, but somehow I never got around doing it. Hubby has been off work for aching shoulder very long time now and it has affected my feelings as well. In the morning I don’t have the energy to do my hair nor make up, in the evenings I haven’t felt like doing anything else than lying on the sofa. And even work has become chore.
But Spring is here. You know it when doggy poop piles become visible under the snow and allergy symptoms are back, due to street dust and pollen, flying all the way from Mid Europe. That’s why I’m now dreaming of summer and flies (and moderate warm summer days, damned be those burning hot heat wave days when the heavy air starts cooking migrain). Pardon me these shabby mobile phone photos once again. I promise to do better.. perhaps. I didn’t even bother wiping the mirror. Anyways, here is my outfit of the day and my pepper tweed skirt I decided to lengthen a bit. Well as much there was allowance, which was about 4 cm. It just felt like a good idea now when the summer is comin’ n’all.

superheidi – It is one of my favourite skirts. I love the fabric. I still have plenty of that tweed left for jacket and perhaps even a waistcoat. I was thinking of 20’s style straight coat with perhaps brown velvet collar and cuffs. I’d love to use brown fur, but since I only use vintage fur, if any, it might be difficult to find. Skirt in your link is pretty gorgeous aswell!
What pattern did you use? A whole ensemble, that’ll be great.
superheidi – I drafted my own pattern, which is what I usually do. However, you can create very similar look on plain skirt by just adding two wide box pleats on front and third on the back where back slit usually would be. Buttons I used are some vintage buttons I happened to have. I only had two of each colour, but I thought it would make interesting effect to have all of them on the waist. I got so excited about the jacket that I already started drafting the pattern for that. Hopefully I’m able to finish it before it gets to warm for coats.
Ihana, keväinen asu! Minä sitten pidän tweedistä :) Mukava tuo kirjoittamasi historiikki tweedistä, en tiennyt mitään noista.
Jep. allergiaoireet yllättivät tänäkin vuonna…
Kartanonrouva Elise – Kiitos :D Minulle on syntynyt lämmin suhde tweediin vasta viimevuosina ja tämä hame on ainoa tweedvaatteeni. Paitsi että minähän valehtelen, onhan tuolla kaapissa yksi herringbone-liivi jota en ole käyttänyt pariin vuoteen, mutta en oikeastaan laske sitä tweediksi koska se taitaa olla ihan 100% tekokuitua se. (Se näyttää tuolle http://www.evildressmaker.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/viikonloppu.jpg kuvista ei kyllä saa selvää että se on herringbonea…). Sitäkin kangasta on vielä paljon jäljellä koska siitä piti myös tulla housut.
Jaksan vuodesta toiseen hämmästyä siitä että allergiaoireet alkavat jo helmikuun loppupuolella… raah.

superheidi – Don’t mention it :D I’m really hoping to be able to finish it before warm weather, and I was planning on using proper tailoring materials like hair canvas or similar. However proper tailoring materials are really hard to get here in Finland, everything has to be ordered from abroad nowadays and I don’t know if I can wait that long. I’m not sure if anybody really supplies hair canvas here anymore but I can try finding something similar.
