Tämän kuun pyöräkuva on taas vähän tavallisempaa sorttia. Talon kulmalla keski-ikäinen mies, pärekori tarakalla. Olisiko kenties lähdössä kauppareisulle. Pikkutakin alla miehellä on neulepaita jossa pieni pystykaulus. Jalassa näyttäisi olevan pitkät saappaat, ehkä jatsarit. Päässä tyypillinen miesten päähine, lätsä.

Kuvan takana on leima Oy Foto Ab, Ta 1949. Oy Foto Ab:n perustettiin Turkuun vuonna 1920. Myöhemmin liikkeitä oli myös Tampereella, Helsingissä ja Kuopiossa. Ta 1949 saattaisi viitata siihen että kuva on kehitetty Tampereella vuonna 1949, mutta varmaa tietoa tästä ei ole. Kuvassa ei ole muita merkintöjä. Miehen asu kyllä sopii 40-luvun loppuun. Sodan jälkeen tämä taisi olla aika tyypillinen työläisväestön asu. Oma vaarinikin käytti samantyyppistä asua vielä lapsuudessani 70- ja 80-luvuilla.

This months bike photo is more regular style. Middle aged man on the corner of a house, holding a bike. There is basket on the back of the bike. Perhaps he is going to the shop. He is wearing knitted sweater under a suit jacket. He is also wearing typical workers hat, a cap, and boots, possibly something called “jatsarit”, which are men’s boots with crinkled ankle. I don’t know if there is proper English name for this type of boot, or if they were even used outside Finland.

At the backside of the photo is label Oy Foto Ab, Ta 1949. Company was founded in 1920 in Turku. Later there was also shops in Tampere, Helsinki and Kuopio. Ta 1949 might refer on the shop in Tampere and 1949 is possibly the printing year. However there is no confirmation on this. There is no other markings on the photo. Person’s outfit does fit on the style of late 1940’s. I suppose this was quite common outfit for workers of that era. My grandfather was using similar clothes even in my childhood in 70’s and 80s.
