DIY Helppo hame kierrättäen

on

Pyöreän pöytäliinan muuttaminen hameeksi on älyttömän helppoa. Tyllialushameesta kerron lisää myöhemmin =)

IN ENGLISH
You already got small preview of my sewing project I finis
hed on tueday. Those who were betting on table cloth were partially correct. It used to be table cloth, but I turned it into a bell skirt. I found it some time ago from flea market and it’s been only waiting for me to have the chance to turn it into something else. Turning a round table cloth into a skirt is ridiculously easy. I will tell you more about the tulle petticoat later =)

Tee näin / DIY :
1. Mittaa vyötärösi ympärys napakasti ja jaa luku neljällä
1. Measure your waist tightly and devide by four

2. Fold table cloth in half and then again in half, looks like quarter of a pie.

3. Merkitse taitetun kankaan terävässä päässä 1/4 vyötärönmittaa tasaisena kaarena.
3. Mark on the sharp end 1/4 of your waist measure as an even curve.

4. Leikkaa pala pois pari senttiä (saumanvarat) merkkitsemäsi kohdan yläpuolelta. Kankaan keskelle muodostuu pyöreä aukko = vyötärö.
4. Cut right above your marking, remember to leave seam allowance about 1,5 cm. This creates round hole in the middle of table cloth = waistline.

5. Leikkaa vyötäröltä halkio n. 15-20 cm kohti helmaa. Tähän tulee vetoketju. Leikkaa halkio 2-3 cm pidemmäksi kuin vetoketjusi.
5. Cut a slit about 15-20 cm long, towards hem. This is the place for zipper. Cut it about 2-3 cm longer than your zipper.

6. Saumuroi halkion reunat ja tee kiilamainen ommel halkion pohjukkaan (näkyy kuvassa jossa vetoketju jo kiinni hameessa).
6. Overlock/serge the edges of the slit and sew the bottom of the slit with wedgelike seam (you can see it in the photo where zipper is already attached).

7. Ompele vetoketju paikoilleen, muista jättää n. 1,5 cm saumanvaroja molemmin puolin.
7. Sew the zipper on, remember to leave about 1,5 cm of seam allowance on both sides.

8. Make biascut strip, about 3-4 cm wide, of a suitable coloured fabric. Make sure it is long enough to go around waist. Fold strip in half, lengthwise. Sew it to the waistline. Fold allowances inside and stitch ontop along the edge. You can also use readymade biascut strip. Stretch the strip while sewing.

9. Kiinnitä vetoketjun yläpuolelle hakanen estämään vetskan avautumista.
9. Attatch hook and loop above the zipper for secured closure.

Vinkki!

Tip! – In this model (full bell skirt) the fabric might stretch quite a bit even while working on it. You can compensate this by taking couple sentimeters off of the waist measurement before measuring the fabric.
– If there are bad unremovable stains on the table cloth you can cover them with bows or fabric flowers made of the piece that was cut of the center.

Oliko ohje hyödyllinen? Puuttuiko siitä joku oleellinen tieto? Osaisitko tällä ohjeella valmistaa itsellesi kellohameen? Palaute on tervetullutta.

Was this tutorial useful? Was there some important information missing from it? Would you be able to make full bell skirt with this tutorial? Feedback is welcome.
