<\/a><\/p>\nOn the conversation of another post I remembered that I actually had colour analysis done on me about decade ago. I don’t really believe on them very much, but since I got the gift voucher handed over to me, I thought perhaps I should go and try. Just for the hell of it. To make the story short: you sit infront of well-lit mirror and different coloured fabric pieces are placed nearby your face. Expert checks what kind of shadows or highlights they create on your face and then according to those, determines your colour type.<\/p>\n
There are different colour analysis systems. Some of them divide people in four basic groups, some of them have subcategories too. After the test, they did makeup with the assumed colour group colours. When I took the analysis, I was just recently graduated makeup artist and I wasn’t overly impressed by the makeup result. Base was way too dark to my pale skin, lipstick was badly applied and there was lots to improve on the eyemakeup too. I have to admit it was just 15-20 minute quick makeup, but basics should still be in order. But let’s talk about the actual result of the analysis.<\/p>\n
According to the analysis, I am Summer, so best colours for me are cold, but soft shades. I should avoid black, off-white, gold, orange and yellowish greens. If I compare this to my favourite colours it seems to work, because I have always hated orange and almost all greens. There are lots of bluish reds and grayish browns and blues in my chart. That’s not bad either because wine red is one of my favourite colours, and so is smoke blue. On the other hand, I hate lilac, which the chart seems to have quite a lot. I also hate most pastels, which also seem to cover the chart pretty well.<\/p>\n
However people see colours in different ways and that might affect on the results. It is always a person who makes the analysis\u00a0and interprets the results based on how they see the colours against\u00a0your skin. That’s why I recommend that the results should be considered as suggestions\u00a0of suitable colours, rather than unbreakable rules.\u00a0\u00a0Do you dear readers have experiences on colour analysis?<\/p>\n
