Huh mit\u00e4 matalalentoa on taas ollut pari p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4! Palasin lomalta t\u00f6ihin t\u00e4ll\u00e4 viikolla, mutta otin t\u00e4llaisen kevyemm\u00e4n l\u00e4hestymisen ja pidin eilen ja torstaina vapaata perushommista. Torstaina ajelimme is\u00e4nn\u00e4n kanssa Turkuun Taiteiden y\u00f6h\u00f6n katsastamaan mit\u00e4 kivaa kaupunki tarjoaa. Matkalla poikkesimme Pimeell\u00e4 Vintill\u00e4<\/a> joka olikin aikamoinen ker\u00e4ilij\u00e4n aarreaitta. Siell\u00e4 olisi saanut kulumaan helposti pari p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4. \u00a0Viivyimme kuitenkin vain pari tuntia ennenkuin jatkoimme matkaa Turkuun. Hortoilimme kaupungin keskustassa suuntaan jos toiseen ja ihailimme maisemia. Lopuksi viel\u00e4 suuntasimme Dynamoon katsomaan burleskia. Omaan petiin p\u00e4\u00e4simme takaisin aamuy\u00f6st\u00e4 joskus kolmen j\u00e4lkeen.<\/p>\n

Ja ettei el\u00e4m\u00e4 k\u00e4visi taaskaan liian tyls\u00e4ksi niin nelj\u00e4n tunnin y\u00f6unien j\u00e4lkeen istahdimme taas autoon ja ajelimme Helsinkiin, kasvitieteelliseen puutarhaan. En ole koskaan aiemmin k\u00e4ynyt Kaisaniemen upeassa kasvitieteellisess\u00e4. Jestas miten hieno paikka. Visiitin syyn\u00e4 oli vintagehenkinen tutkimusmatkailu-mallikeikka. Pakko todeta ett\u00e4 atmosf\u00e4\u00e4ri oli kerrassaan autenttinen sill\u00e4 hiki tippui nen\u00e4np\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 kuin tropiikissa ik\u00e4\u00e4n ja kampaus r\u00e4j\u00e4hti heti k\u00e4ttelyss\u00e4 siin\u00e4 kuumankosteassa ilmassa. Onneksi se k\u00e4tev\u00e4sti peitettiin hellekyp\u00e4r\u00e4ll\u00e4. Parituntisen kuvaussetin tulokset n\u00e4hd\u00e4\u00e4n mahdollisesti viikon-parin p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4, mutta ohessa yksi maistiainen.<\/p>\n

Parin p\u00e4iv\u00e4n asuista sen verran ett\u00e4 satuin puhtaalla tuurilla bongaamaan l\u00e4heisen, varsin keskinkertaisen pikkukirppiksen euron rekist\u00e4 hameen jollaista olen etsinyt jo noin vuoden verran. Totean siis jo ties kuinka monennen kerran ett\u00e4 hyv\u00e4\u00e4 kannattaa odottaa. T\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen sopivan kokoinen ja mallinen hame l\u00e4hes k\u00e4veli syliin. V\u00e4rikin on ihan jees, tosin taas se sininen (v\u00e4ri josta en hirve\u00e4sti pid\u00e4 mutta jostain syyst\u00e4 se valloittaa vaatekaappiani)<\/strong><\/span>. Puolis\u00e4\u00e4reen ulottuva 30-luvunhenkinen pellavahame on uusi suosikki. Kukkanapit lis\u00e4sin itse tuomaan enemm\u00e4n autenttisuutta. Yhdistin sen viimekes\u00e4n\u00e4 tekem\u00e4\u00e4ni peasant-puseroon.<\/p>\n

Kuvausasun ratsastushousut sen sijaan tein kaverin vintage-ratsareiden mallin mukaan. Ihmettelin alkuper\u00e4isten housujen erikoista leikkausta, mutta en ihmettele en\u00e4\u00e4. Kaikki yksityiskohdat s\u00e4\u00e4ren etunapituksesta haaraosan vahvikkeeseen, erikoiseen sivulta eteen k\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4\u00e4n pussileikkaukseen ja vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6n napituslenkkiin asti ovat tarkkaan harkittuja ja funktionaalisia. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 kohtaa saan taputtaa itse\u00e4ni olalle ja olla tyytyv\u00e4inen suurit\u00f6isten housujen t\u00e4ydelliseen onnistumiseen.<\/p>\n

What a whirl it’s been past couple days! I returned to work this week, but decided to take it easy and have couple day’s off thrusday and yesterday. Me and hubby drove to Turku on Thrusday to see the Night of Arts, which offered all sorts of art related events. On our way there we dropped by at Pimee Vintti<\/a> (transl. Dark Attic, webpage only in finnish, sorry)<\/strong><\/span>. It turned out to be real collectors treasure chest. You could have easily spent couple days there. However we only stayed about two hours and continued on our way to Turku. We wandered around town here and there and admired the scenery. And finally went to local bar to watch some burlesque. We were able to hit our own beds after three in the morning.<\/p>\n

And not to make life too boring and simple, after about four hours sleep, we sat in the car again and drove to Helsinki, botanical garden. I’ve never been in the Kaisaniemi botanical garden before, but darn that was fantastic place. Reason for this visit was modelling for vintage themed explorer-adventurer photo shoot. I have to say that atmosphere was somewhat authentical. I was sweating like mad just like in tropic and my hairdo sort of exploded pretty much straight away in the hot and steamy air. Thankfully I could cover the mess with pith helmet. Results from this two-hour photo shoot are available in one-two weeks, but here is one sneak peek.<\/p>\n

About the outfits. With just pure luck I managed to find from our nearby mediocre charity shop a skirt I’ve been searching for about a year. Once again I have to say that it’s worth waiting for that perfect piece to come along. It fits perfectly and it’s just the length and style I want and it practically jumped on me. Colour is ok too even though it’s blue again (colour I’m not that much in love with, but which is invading my wardrobe)<\/strong><\/span>. This linen skirt is nicely 30’s style and my new favourite. Floral buttons I added myself for more authentic style. I combined it with peasant blouse I made last summer.<\/p>\n

Riding jodhpurs I made for the photo shoot. I used my friends original vintage jodhpurs as a model. I was wondering about the odd cut on the pants, but I’m not wondering anymore. All details from the front buttoning, extra layer at the crotch, unusual twisting cut and little buttoning loop on the waist are carefully thought and functional features. At this point I tap myself on the shoulder and I’m extremely satisfied about how perfectly these worked out, even though they required quite a lot of work.<\/p>\n
