Vanhojen lankojen v\u00e4ris\u00e4vyt vastaavat paremmin vanhojen vaatteiden v\u00e4ris\u00e4vyj\u00e4, luonnollisesti. \u00a0T\u00e4m\u00e4 johtuu v\u00e4riaineiden ja v\u00e4rj\u00e4ystekniikoiden kehittymisest\u00e4.\u00a0Vintagevaatteiden saumat ratkeilevat usein siksi ett\u00e4 ompelulangat olivat yleens\u00e4 puuvillaa tai silkki\u00e4, molemmat haurastuvat ajanoloon ja antavat periksi k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4.\u00a0<\/span>Suurin osa n\u00e4ist\u00e4 kuvassa olevista on silkki\u00e4. I noticed that I have quite large collection of old sewing yarns. I have bought these because in most cases vintage clothes need little touch up and modern yarn colours don’t match so well. You want the colour to match if you are mending a hole. The colours in vintage yarns match better with the colours of vintage clothes, naturally. This is due to the developement of dyes and dye techniques. Quite often vintage garments seams are ripped. That’s because sewing threads were usually cotton or silk, which both get weak during time and give in rather easily. Most of these in the photo are silk. Aren’t they pretty, almost like sweeties!<\/p>\n
