Article is about an exhibition held in Toronto<\/a> which displays antique clothes and poisons used in the making. Mass production and it’s dangers are now talk of the town, so to speak. But it never even occurred to me that hey, there were poisons used in old clothes too. Especially many fashionable fabric dyes have been made with poisonous incredients, which have caused severe results on workers. Poisonous residue on the garment might have caused health issues to the user aswell, but they used them anyway.<\/p>\n You might be interested to know for example that when green dye was invented in the end of 18th century, it was made by mixing arsenic and copper and it was highly poisonous. It became very popular in the 19th century, but caused illness and deaths of the workers who used it. Movie title Arsenic and old lace is getting whole new meanings.
