T\u00e4n\u00e4 vuonna blogissa on keskitytty paljon ekologiseen ja eettiseen pukeutumiseen. Teema tulee jatkumaan ainakin koko t\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoden, ja luultavasti my\u00f6s tulevaisuudessa jossain muodossa. T\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n haluan muistuttaa teit\u00e4 huomisesta Vaatevallankumouksesta, jota vietet\u00e4\u00e4n bangladeshilaisen Rana Plazan vaatetehdaskompleksin romahtamisen vuosip\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4. Onnettomuudessa kuoli 1133 ihmist\u00e4 ja loukkaantui yli 2000. Ylen MOT teki jutun bangladeshilaisista vaatetehtaista, vuosi onnettomuuden j\u00e4lkeen. Juuri mit\u00e4\u00e4n ei ole tapahtunut, paitsi ty\u00f6tahti kiristynyt yli-inhimilliseksi. N\u00e4iss\u00e4 tehtaissa valmistuvat my\u00f6s suomalaisten tunnettujen merkkien vaatteet. Vaatevallankumouksen<\/a>\u00a0(englanninkielinen sivu)<\/strong><\/span> tarkoituksena on osoittaa muotiteollisuudelle ett\u00e4 emme halua en\u00e4\u00e4 halpatuotantoa. This year on the blog has been a lot about ecological and ethical clothes. Theme will continue atleast the whole year and probably also in the future, atleast in some form. Today I want to remind you about the Fashion Revolution which is spent tomorrow 24.4.2014 to remember the collapsing of clothing factory building Rana Plaza in Bangladesh. 1133 people died in the accident and over 2000 injured. They still haven’t found all victims. Each of them have to be dna-identified in order the relatives to get compensation for the loss of their family member.<\/p>\n

Finnish broadcasting company made a documentary of bangladeshian clothing factories year after the accident. Pretty much nothing has changed, except the work pace have gone inhumane. Less than 2 cents of one garment sold in western clothing shop, goes to the person who made it. Their minimum monthly wage is about 60-90\u20ac when it should be over 100\u20ac. Also our well known Finnish brands have their clothes made in those factories where people can’t even have a break to go to the toilet, because otherwise they don’t get their production goals filled and they have to work overtime for free. One manager of these factories told to the reporter that if these western clothing companies would pay just 50 cents more per one garment, they would be able to improve their work and fire safety significantly.<\/p>\n

Fashion Revolution<\/a> has been organized to show to the fashion industry that we don’t want cheap mass production any more. We want good quality clothes which are made both ethically and ecologically. We want to know who makes our clothes and in what kind of conditions. Instructions to join in you can find here<\/a>.
