If you have seen photos of my vanity table<\/a>, you know that I have rather large jewelry collection. Even so, I am not very skillfull jewelry wearer, not in a cheerful and colourful way like Desiree<\/a>. I have loads of jewelry because couple years back I had silver jewelry making as a hobby. I made them faster than I had a chance to wear them. I have made a post about those<\/a> aswell, couple years ago. But today I’m showing you some of my vintage jewelry instead.<\/p>\n

I’m not too picky about my jewelry and not limiting myself to one particular time frame. I pick any jewelry that pleases my eye, old or new. Here couple of my current favourites in spotlight. Some of my other jewelry you can see on one of my older posts<\/a>, but I have to admit, the amount has grown after that…<\/p>\n

\nkorvakoru jonka pari on kadonnut. Hopeaketjuun ripustettuna se on kaunis kaulakoru jota
\nk\u00e4yt\u00e4n eniten juuri nyt.<\/p>\n

Silver peacock is a find from swap meet event, I dug it out from a junk box. I think it’s originally<\/em>
\nan earring which lost it’s pair. Hanging on a silver chain it makes a pretty necklace, which<\/em>
\nI wear a lot right now.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Hopeinen agaatti-riipus on erikoinen l\u00f6yt\u00f6. Se maksoi kirpputorilla vain 3,50 \u20ac mutta sen arvo
\non parikymmenkertainen. Kultasep\u00e4n mukaan se on kotimaista designia 60- tai 70-luvulta.
\nPid\u00e4n sen erikoisesta koristeellisuudesta, siin\u00e4 on hieman renesanssin koukeroisuutta.
\nPikkuruinen viiniryp\u00e4leterttu on rihkamaa, mutta \u00a0kaulassa kaunis ja siro.<\/p>\n

Silver agate pendant is unusual find. It was only 3,50 \u20ac on a flea market, but the value is about<\/em>
\n20 times more. Goldsmith told me it is Finnish design from 60’s or 70’s. I like the unique<\/em>
\ndecorations, it has a bit renaissaince feeling to it. \u00a0Little grape-pendant is basically\u00a0<\/em>
\nworthless, but it looks pretty.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Musta rintakoru on vanhin koruni. Se on tyypillinen 1800-luvun lopun suru-koru. Identtisi\u00e4
\n<\/span>koruja\u00a0l\u00f6ytyy nettikaupoistakin varsin helposti. Kukkakimppua pitelev\u00e4 k\u00e4si on tavallinen
\n<\/span>aihe viktoriaanisissa surukoruissa. Se on valmistettu joko vulkaniitista tai gagaatista,
\n<\/span>mutta en osaa sanoa kummasta.
\n<\/span>Hopeinen M-kirjain on Martta-yhdistyksen j\u00e4senmerkki. Ostin sen yst\u00e4v\u00e4lt\u00e4, mutta en ole
\n<\/span>voinut viel\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 sit\u00e4 koska siit\u00e4 puuttuu neula. Oikeasti rintamerkki\u00e4 saisivat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4
\n<\/span>vain Marttojen j\u00e4senet, mutta en ajatellut antaa sen h\u00e4irit\u00e4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Black brooch is my oldest jewelry. It is typical end of the 1800’s mourning brooch. You can<\/em>
\neasily find identical jewelry from online shops. Hand holding the bouguet is quite usual<\/em>
\nfeature in Victorian mourning jewelry. It is made of either vulcanite or jet, but I don’t\u00a0<\/em>
\nknow which.\u00a0<\/em>
\nSilver M is membership pin of Martta Association. They are sort of the Finnish\u00a0<\/em>
\nequivalent for British Women’s Institute. I bought the pin from my friend but I haven’t<\/em>
\nbeen able to use it because the actual pin is missing. According to their rules, only\u00a0<\/em>
\nmembers are allowed to use these, but I don’t let that bother me.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
