T\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n joulukalenterissa puhutaan hiuksista. Viimevuosina mulla on ollut tapana k\u00e4yd\u00e4 kampaajalla kerran vuodessa. Yleens\u00e4 silloin huonokuntoiset latvat siistit\u00e4\u00e4n pois ja laitetaan permanentti jonka hiuslaatuni n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 vaativan rullakampausten pohjalle ollakseen edes jotenkin k\u00e4sitelt\u00e4v\u00e4. Ilman permanenttia kiharat eiv\u00e4t t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tukassa pysy muutamaa tuntia pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n. Hiusv\u00e4rit olen jo vuosia laittanut itse, ja osin siit\u00e4 syyst\u00e4 vuosi sitten permanentin kanssa k\u00e4vikin pikku moka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kerroin omalle kampaajalleni tuosta Anjan sukulaisen kokemasta tapauksesta ja kampaaja oli sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kyse oli ilman muuta kemiallisesta reaktiosta. Hiuksissa oli mahdollisesti j\u00e4\u00e4mi\u00e4 jostakin kemikaalista (muista hiustuotteista, parfyymist\u00e4, \u00a0mist\u00e4 hyv\u00e4ns\u00e4)<\/strong><\/span> joka sitten reagoi noiden hiustuotteiden kanssa odottamattomalla tavalla. Kemiallisesta reaktiosta, joskaan ei yht\u00e4 vahvasta,\u00a0\u00a0oli kyse my\u00f6s minun kohdallani vuosi sitten, tosin jatkuva ponnarin k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 oli osasyy hiusten katkeiluun.<\/p>\n

Minulla on ollut t\u00e4ss\u00e4 vuosi aikaa paikata vahinko. Olen lakannut k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 kaupan keinotekoisia hiusv\u00e4rej\u00e4 ja siirtynyt k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n hennaa (joka sekin voi kuulemma sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 metalleja jotka vaikuttavat mm. permanentin lopputulokseen)<\/strong><\/span>. Olen v\u00e4ltt\u00e4nyt k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 ponnaria, hiustenkuivaajaa ja kihartimia ja muutenkin v\u00e4hent\u00e4nyt muotoilutuotteiden m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4. Ja jipii! T\u00e4m\u00e4np\u00e4iv\u00e4isen hell\u00e4varaisemman permanentin ja tehohoitojen j\u00e4lkeen hiukseni alkavat viimein n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 ja tuntua taas sille mille niiden kuuluukin! Vaikka en olekaan koskaan ollut hiuksistani niin turhan tarkka, niin on se silti kivaa ett\u00e4 hiukset ovat taas jotain muuta kuin karheaa, rapisevaa olkea. Iso kiitos siit\u00e4 kuuluu tietysti my\u00f6s kampaajalleni Ninalle, joka on neuvonut hiusten hoidossa ja tehnyt permanentin yhteydess\u00e4 kaikki mahdolliset taikatemput jotta hiukset eiv\u00e4t menisi uudestaan huonoon kuntoon.<\/p>\n

T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kiharapehkolla kelpasikin sitten menn\u00e4 suoraan asukasyhdistyksen pikkujouluihin. Kiharat sopivat aika kivasti tuon t\u00e4ydellisess\u00e4 kunnossa olevaan 40-luvun kanssa. Today’s Advent Calendar is all about hair. During past couple years I have had the habit of going to hairdresser once a year. Usually to tidy up the dry ends and to get permanent curls, which my hair seems to require to be atleast somewhat manageable. Without permanent curls as base for hairdo’s, my hair does’t hold any roll curls for long. They will flatten within couple hours. Hair dye I have done myself for years, and partially because of that, there was a slight cock up with the permanent last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anja Nyst\u00e9n, who is professional in the field of chemistry, writes a blog about everyday chemistry called Kemikaalikimara. Recently she wrote about her relative who had quite bad and unexpected accident with hairproducts. It is all explained in her blog in finnish<\/a>, but to make it simple, here it is shortly in english. Person had ordinary everyday haircare products that she had been using before. One day she used them as usual but suddenly she felt the hair started heating up. She rushed to wash the products off, but that only made it worse. Hair turned into one big lump of huge dreadlock. Same day she went to hairdresser who tried to solve the hair lump for an hour, but did not get much further.<\/p>\n

Day after she went to another hairdressers,where three people solved and untangled the hair for staggering nine hours! Lots of hair came of and were badly damaged and obviously hair turned out much shorter in places aswell. Anja persuaded the person to contact the importing company for complaint. They were very apologetic and supportive, but wanted to send samples of hair and explanation to the head office which is in Germany. Head office didn’t reply anything for ages. Not until Anja made a post in her public blog about this. After that the reply came, claiming that there is nothing wrong with the products and it is just customers own fault because she has obviously not taken proper care of her hair. This is how Schwarzkopf treats their customers.<\/p>\n

I told about this to my hairdresser and she said that definitely it is some sort of chemical reation. There must have been some sort of chemical residue in her hair (from other haircare products, from perfume, from anything basically) which together with the other haircare products, caused the unexpected chemical reaction. Chemical reaction was also the reason why my hair was damaged, allthough in my case it wasn’t as bad, and the continuous use of rubber hair band on ponytail, combined with the reaction caused a lot of damage aswell.<\/p>\n

I’ve now had a year to fix the damage. I have stopped using market hair dye and only use henna dye now (which apparently can also have metals in it, which can affect the result of other chemical hairtreatments, like permanent curls). I now avoid using rubber hair bands, hair dryer and heating curlers. I have also cut down hairstyling products. And Yippee! After today’s gentle permanent curls and super treatments my hair is finally looking and feeling as they should! Even though I\u00a0have\u00a0never been super picky about what my hair is like, it is nice to have the proper hair back. And huge thanks go to my hairdresser Nina, who has given me instructions and made all possible magic tricks to make sure that my hair doesn’t get ruined again in this permanent treatment.<\/p>\n

So with this fluff of lovely curls, I was proud to go to our tennant associations Christmas party. Curls go nicely with my perfect 40’s wool dress. I got the dress about 10 years ago from local Red Cross Charity shop. They very rarely have anything vintage, because they are so picky what they can sell. One single tiny hole in the garment or rip in the seam, and it is not going to the shop.<\/p>\n
