Ompelin ylimpien nappien v\u00e4leihin nepparit ja ajattelin ett\u00e4 asia on fiksattu. No ei ollut. Alemmatkin v\u00e4lit kuprusivat ja totesin sen johtuvan siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 napituslista oli venynyt k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 ja pesuissa niin ett\u00e4 se oli pidempi kuin itse neuleen etureuna. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pystyi toteamaan siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 napituslista roikkui alempana kuin helma muualta ja saadakseen napituslistan pysym\u00e4\u00e4n suorana sit\u00e4 piti nyky\u00e4 jatkuvasti alasp\u00e4in.<\/p>\n

Ratkoin napituslistan irti molemmista reunoista ylimp\u00e4\u00e4n nappiin asti. Lyhensin kumpaistakin noin 5 cm ja kiinnitin takaisin paikalleen. Koska neuleen reuna oli napituslistan mukana venynyt jonkin verran, jouduin sy\u00f6tt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n neuletta niin ett\u00e4 se asettui ilman ryppyj\u00e4 uuteen listan pituuteen. Paksummassa neuleessa t\u00e4m\u00e4 onnistuu kohtalaisen helposti. Listaa olisi voinut lyhent\u00e4\u00e4 viel\u00e4 hiukan enemm\u00e4n mutta en halunnut ett\u00e4 lista alkaa tehd\u00e4 p\u00e4invastaista eli vet\u00e4\u00e4 neuleen alareunaa yl\u00f6sp\u00e4in. Lopuksi virkkasin viel\u00e4 lankalaatikosta l\u00f6ytyneest\u00e4 sopivanv\u00e4risest\u00e4 j\u00e4m\u00e4langasta ohuen vy\u00f6n. Vy\u00f6 poistaa kivasti neuleen kasarimaista fiilist\u00e4 (en oikein ole kasarin yst\u00e4v\u00e4)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

\nHave you had a knit top and realized it almost unusable because the buttoning bulges awkwardly. I have. This is how you get rid of bulging.<\/p>\n

In the beginning all the gaps between buttons bulged, even though blouse was fitting perfectly. I sewed snap buttons between upper buttons and thought, ok, this will fix it. Well no it didn’t. Also the lower gaps were bulging. I realized that the buttoning was so stretched in the wash and wear that it was much longer than the actual knit. This can easily be confirmed when the buttoning hangs lower on the hem than rest of the blouse hem. You also have to constantly pull it downwards to keep it straight.<\/p>\n

So I unpicked the buttoning from both edges, all the way up to the first button. I shortened it about 5 cm from both ends and sewed back on. Because the edge of the knit was also stretched I had to feed it a bit to get it nicely back on the buttoning. On thick knit this is relatively easy to do without creases. I could have shorten the buttoning little bit more than I did, but I didn’t want it to start pulling the knit upwards either. I finished the knit by adding narrow crochet belt I made from leftover yarn that matches the colour. Belt adds little bit more vintage feeling and removes those unwanted 80’s vibes (I’m not that much of a 80’s fan)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n
