Koskapa olen asunut viimep\u00e4iv\u00e4t tuossa ihanassa tiilenpunaisessa 30-luvun puvussa (t\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n oli kyll\u00e4 aivan liian kuuma p\u00e4iv\u00e4 siihen pukuun, mutta turhamaisuudesta saa maksaa…)<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0niin uusia asukuvia ei t\u00e4h\u00e4n v\u00e4liin ole. Mutta otetaan vaikka sitten n\u00e4m\u00e4 viimeaikaiset kirppisl\u00f6yd\u00f6t kun ne sattuivat nyt olemaan t\u00e4ss\u00e4 sopivasti hollilla.<\/p>\n

Edulliset kankaat ovat aina hyvi\u00e4 l\u00f6yt\u00f6j\u00e4, mutta erityisesti ilahdun jos l\u00f6yd\u00e4n vintagekankaita. Ohut puuvillatwill on vanhaa kangasta ja l\u00f6ytyi yll\u00e4tt\u00e4en UFFilta. Olen v\u00e4h\u00e4n suunnitellut ompelevani pellavaisia pussihousuja 30-luvun tyyliin. Jos t\u00e4m\u00e4 kangas riitt\u00e4\u00e4 niin saatan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 sen tuohon projektiin koska se olisi l\u00e4hes t\u00e4ydellist\u00e4 kangasta. Viininpunainen printtikangas on l\u00f6yt\u00f6 Kangasalta, Outolinnusta. T\u00e4st\u00e4 suunnittelin tekev\u00e4ni peplum-helmaisen puseron. Luulen ett\u00e4 kangas on kasaria mutta menee my\u00f6s vintagesta. Peltirasian taisin ostaa Kirpputori Silinterist\u00e4 ja se luultavasti tulee t\u00e4yttym\u00e4\u00e4n ompelutarvikkeista.<\/p>\n

T\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n poikkesin ruokatauolla nopsasti Tammelan torilla ja ehdin juuri ja juuri vilkaista torin kirppisp\u00f6yd\u00e4t. \nAs I have been living in my new lovely brick red 30’s frock (although today was way too warm for that dress, but you gotta pay for being vain)<\/strong><\/span> there is no new outfit photos for now. But while waiting for those we can go through my latest thrift finds.<\/p>\n

I love finding fabrics from flea markets, but even more I love finding vintage fabrics. Light weigh cotton twill is vintage \u00a0and surprising enough I found it from local charity shop, UFF, which usually doesn’t stock much vintage at all ( I mean real vintage, I don’t really categorize 70’s or 80’s vintage)<\/strong><\/span>. I have been planning on making 30’s style jodhpurs and this would be perfect for those, if there is enough material. Wine red print viscose was find from local flea market and I’m planning on peplum blouse of it. I think it’s from the 80’s but works with vintage style aswell. Tin is from another local flea market, and will probably fill with haberdashery.<\/p>\n

Today I quickly dropped by on nearby market place on my lunch break and checked their thrifting area. On one table there was woman already packing away and she had those little metal things. She didn’t know what it is, but was suspecting some sort of bag closure. I thought that probably is the most likely use for it and my friend confirmed. Lid opens up and when pulling from little rings on sides, the mechanism opens into oval shape. Bagpouch itself will be attached to the holes on the bottom end. I have seen similar mechanisms on late 1800’s purses. It came with original packaging and box isn’t exactly new, so this is so called deadstock vintage-quality. I also bought those lovely 40’s velvet flowers from that same person.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week I also found this yard sales nearby village and found these charming photos from there. I especially like that portrait taken with the help of mirrors. Quite interesting and unique. On the same trip I had a little mishap again. When I was rummaging around the stuff the Lady of the house found out that I had a flat rear tire. And what else was it than large screw through the tire. “Yay!” Thankfully the Master of the house was kind enough to change the spare tire for me so I was able to continue back to town. I seem to be collecting nails and screws because just last summer we had to fix one tire because of nail in it. With the spare tire I was able to drive straight to the tire company for repairs. I can tell you, driving with that tiny spare tire is not exactly a pleasure. But all ended well.<\/p>\n
