Noniin, takaisin kaupungin sykkeess\u00e4. Hein\u00e4ty\u00f6t olivat juuri niin raskasta, likaista, hikist\u00e4 ja kirvelev\u00e4\u00e4 hommaa kuin muistinkin. Eli lapsuuden kauhumuistot eiv\u00e4t olleet kovin paljon liioiteltuja. Muistoksi t\u00e4st\u00e4kin kerrasta j\u00e4iv\u00e4t k\u00e4sivarren- ja s\u00e4\u00e4renmitalliset verinaarmuja, kuten kunnon hein\u00e4t\u00f6ist\u00e4 kuuluukin. Ja j\u00e4lleen kerran testasin miten p\u00e4\u00e4 kest\u00e4\u00e4 auringonpaistetta. Ei se kest\u00e4. Parisen tuntia hikisess\u00e4 navetanparvessa oli pikku juttu verrattuna puoleen tuntiin pellolla paalik\u00e4rryn kyydiss\u00e4 (yleens\u00e4 kuulemma porukka haluaa mieluummin hein\u00e4hommissa olla pellolla kuin parvessa, mulle taas hein\u00e4np\u00f6lyisess\u00e4 parvessa huhkiminen oli huomattavasti kivempaa)<\/strong><\/span>. Piti taas ottaa v\u00e4h\u00e4n lepi\u00e4 nestett\u00e4 nauttien ja siit\u00e4 huolimatta my\u00f6h\u00e4isilta menikin sitten jonkinsortin auringonpistosvetoisen migreenin kourissa. No hein\u00e4t saatiin sateensuojaan ja sen j\u00e4lkeen hyv\u00e4\u00e4 ruokaa ja saunomista kuten juhannuksena kuuluu. Ett\u00e4 semmoista tosi-farmeilua meill\u00e4. Migreenist\u00e4 huolimatta varsin onnistunut reissu maalle (mik\u00e4\u00e4n mihin liittyy hyv\u00e4 ruoka ei voi olla t\u00e4ysin ep\u00e4onnistunut)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Juhannuksen loistavat ruokavinkit: Louhisaaren juoma (resepti t\u00e4\u00e4lt\u00e4<\/span><\/a>)<\/strong><\/span> ja piparjuurivoin kera grillatut maissit (reilu ruuttaus piparjuuritahnaa tai wasabia ja n. 100-200 g voita sotketaan tasaiseksi, sivell\u00e4\u00e4n maisseille ja grillataan, nam!)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWell then, back in town again. Hay work was just as tough, dirty, sweaty and stingy as I remembered. So the childhood horror memories weren’t that much exaggerated. Souvenirs from this trip are armfulls and legfulls of scratches, as from proper hay work should. Once again I wanted to test how my head copes with the sunlight. It doesn’t. Couple hours in sweaty barn was piece of cake compared to 30 minutes on top of the haybale trailer on the field (I’ve been told that usually people rather want to be on the fields than in the barn, for me it was definitely the other way around)<\/strong><\/span>. After that I had to rest awhile inside drinking liquids and even despite of that I suffered some sort of sun stroke\/migrain combo later in the evening. However we managed to get the hay inside and after that good food and sauna, as it should on Midsummer. So that kind of serious farming. Despite of my migrain it was very good trip to the countryside (anything that involves good food can’t be all that bad)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

PS. Awesome little tips for summer food: Louhisaari drink and sweetcorn grilled with horseradish (or wasabi)<\/strong><\/span> butter
\nLouhisaari drink<\/strong><\/span>
\n2,5 litres of rinsed black currant leafs
\n4 litres of water
\n250 g of sugar
\n2 lemons (juice, pulp and zest)
\npea-size crumb of fresh yeast
\nBoil water and pour ontop of black currant leafs. Allow to cool slowly. Mix sugar into the lukewarm water, allow to solve. Add yeast and lemon zest. Allow to brew for day (or two at max). Siv off the leafs and lemon zest. Add lemon juice and bottle. Store in cool place.<\/p>\n

Wasabibutter- sweetcorn<\/strong><\/span>
\nabout 200g of butter
\nabout 1 -2 table spoons of wasabi
\nAllow butter to soften in room temperature. Mix wasabi (or horseradish paste)<\/strong> <\/span>with the butter until smooth. Butter the sweetcorn and grill until nicely cooked. Eat while still warm.<\/p>\n
