Mutta nyt l\u00f6ytyy juhlamekkoja joka l\u00e4ht\u00f6\u00f6n. Mekko oli alunperin modernihko 90-luvun lopun tai 2000-luvun alun t\u00e4ysipitk\u00e4 varsin ep\u00e4pukeva iltapuku. Helmanlyhennyksen, kavennuksen, hihojenpoiston ja p\u00e4\u00e4ntienmuotoilun j\u00e4lkeen siit\u00e4 sukeutui varsin n\u00e4ps\u00e4kk\u00e4 50-luku\/pinup-vaikutteinen juhla-asu. For some reason it seems that the amount of party dresses in my closet have expanded in amazing way. Couple years ago I had only two evening gowns. All other dresses were pretty much casual or weird in-between style that you couldn’t really tell what they were. But now I have party dresses and gowns for pretty much any use. And the latest addition is green and black jaquard dress, found from local charity shop, revamped and used first time on my darlings 50th birthday party.<\/p>\n

Originally the dress was quite modern end of 90’s, early 2000’s, full length unflattering evening gown. After shortening the hem, some intakes, removal of sleeves and reshaping the neckline, it looks quite nifty\u00a0 50’s\/pinup style party dress. I used leftover fabric to make matching tie for my sweeties new suit. You can find instructions for this quite showy, but easy to make tie enclosed. It’s handy way of reusing the leftover materials from either revamp or sewing project. It’s also nice way of matching party ensembles for a couple without being too tacky.<\/p>\n

1. Cut pieces in following sizes<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
\n 9 x 16 cm of jaquard<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
\n 32 x 73 cm of jaquard<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
\n 90,5 x 47 cm of jaquard (neck circumference
\nmeasured on top of shirt collar)<\/strong><\/em><\/span>
\n 4,5 x 47 cm of lining<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Taita suurin pala keskelt\u00e4 kaksinkerroin pituussuuntaan ja ompele reunat yhteen,

2. Fold the largest piece in half lengthwise, sew edges together, leave small gap for
\nturning right side out. Turn and stitch the turning hole.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Form pleats according to your likings and pin them.
\nIron slightly, but do not press completely flat. Fix the pleats
