Is\u00e4nt\u00e4 ja min\u00e4 omistamme aika v\u00e4h\u00e4n antiikkia, mutta jokin aika sitten kokoelmamme karttui j\u00e4nnitt\u00e4v\u00e4ll\u00e4 l\u00f6yd\u00f6ll\u00e4. T\u00f6rm\u00e4sin kirpputorilla erikoiseen puiseen rasiaan. Hintalapussa luki vain “antiikkinen laatikko 20\u20ac” joten oli ilmiselv\u00e4\u00e4 ett\u00e4 rasian myyj\u00e4 ei tiennyt mik\u00e4 se on. Olen jo vuosia sitten ostanut kirpputorilta useita stereokuvia<\/a>, pahvisia kortteja joissa on kaksi l\u00e4hes identtist\u00e4 valokuvaa rinnakkain. N\u00e4iden kuvien katselulaitetta en kuitenkaan ole onnistunut l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n. En ennenkuin nyt. Mysteerilaatikko on kuin onkin stereokuvien katselulaite. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 nimenomaisella laitteella, grafoskoopilla,\u00a0 saattoi my\u00f6s katsella kuvia ja teksti\u00e4 suurennuslasin l\u00e4pi. Muut uudet jutut ovatkin sitten vaatepuolelta. Viikonlopun vintage-tapahtumaa varten p\u00e4\u00e4tin tehd\u00e4 vihdoin ruudullisen 30-luvun tyylisen liivimekon jollaista olen kaivannut vaatekaappiin jo pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n. Liivimekko onnistuikin yli odotusten vaikka ehk\u00e4 aavistuksen ep\u00e4r\u00f6in kankaan v\u00e4rin sopivuutta. Huoleni oli turha, v\u00e4ri sopii t\u00e4ydellisesti. Viel\u00e4 iloisemmaksi tulin kun l\u00f6ysin vintage-kojuista siniharmaan kevyen villajakun joka sopii liivimekon kanssa yhteen erinomaisesti. En ole jakkupuku-ihmisi\u00e4, tunnen itseni niiss\u00e4 liian viralliseksi ja j\u00e4yk\u00e4ksi, mutta t\u00e4ll\u00e4inen kevyt puseromainen jakku toimii paljon paremmin.<\/p>\n

\nNow when the vintage fair is finally finished (HUGE THANK YOU to all my lovely customers and others who stopped by to say hello!)<\/strong><\/span>, I can show you couple new acquisitions.<\/p>\n

My hubby and I own just a little bit of antique, but recently we were able to get one very exciting item. I bumped into this odd box in a flea market. Price tag said just “antique box 20\u20ac” so obviously the person selling it didn’t know what it is. I could not guess what it was meant for and I certainly did not guess that I have tried to find one like it for years. Many of our friends tried to guess what it is, but my hubby finally figured out what it actually is.<\/p>\n

I have owned several stereoscopic pictures<\/a> for years. They are cardboard pictures with two almost identical photos side by side. I haven’t been able to find equipment for watching these pictures. Untill now. This mysterious box is, infact, a machine for watching stereoscopic pictures. This particular equipment, graphoscope, is also for viewing photos and text through magnifying glass. Unfortunately this individual has lost it’s lenses, the magnifying one and also both of smaller lenses meant for watching stereoscopic pictures. However me and my hubby are trying to restore this magnificent thing.<\/p>\n

My other new items are in my wardrobe. For the vintage fair I decided to finally make the plaid 30’s pinafore dress, I have been coveting for ages. It turned out great, even though I itsy bitsy doubtfull about the colour of the fabric. But that worry was unnecessary, colour was perfect. And I was even happier after I found smoke blue light jacket from the fair. It matches the pinafore amazingly well. I’m not really jacket suit person, but\u00a0 this kind of light blouse-like jacket without lining works much better.<\/p>\n
