Joskus ennen joulua poikkesimme is\u00e4nn\u00e4n kanssa kirpputorilla etsim\u00e4ss\u00e4 joululahjoja. Samalla reisulla l\u00f6ysin itselleni kauan etsityn villaisen neuletakin. Neule maksoi 16\u20ac eli enemm\u00e4n kuin mit\u00e4 normaalisti suostun kirppisvaatteista maksamaan. Ajattelin kuitenkin ett\u00e4 luultavasti en tule t\u00e4m\u00e4n halvemmalla villaista neuletta l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n joten menk\u00f6\u00f6n. Neule on Stockmannin Global Sport-mallistoa jota olen pit\u00e4nyt kohtalaisen edullisena merkkin\u00e4. Ei nyt sielt\u00e4 kaikkein halvimmasta p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 mutta ei mik\u00e4\u00e4n hirve\u00e4n kallis. Laadultaan Global on mielest\u00e4ni ollut ehk\u00e4 jotain keskitasoa, v\u00e4h\u00e4n tuotteesta riippuen, mutta ei nyt mitenk\u00e4\u00e4n erityist\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n. En siis odottanut neuleelta mit\u00e4\u00e4n ihmeit\u00e4 sill\u00e4 olen kokenut my\u00f6s sen \u00e4\u00e4rip\u00e4\u00e4n. Viime syksyn\u00e4 ostamani trikoopusero nyppyyntyi t\u00e4ysin yhden p\u00e4iv\u00e4n aikana.<\/p>\n

Olen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4nyt neuletta l\u00e4hes p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in siit\u00e4 saakka kun sen ostin ja olen v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4nkin h\u00e4mm\u00e4stynyt. Ei nypyn nyppy\u00e4 miss\u00e4\u00e4n. Tyypillisesti nypyt ilmestyv\u00e4t kohtiin jotka joutuvat kovalle hankaukselle kuten kyljet k\u00e4den alta, kaulus, rintamus, hihansuut. T\u00e4m\u00e4 neule ei ole nyppyyntynyt ollenkaan. Kahden kuukauden eritt\u00e4in aktiivinen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 ei ole vaikuttanut neuleen pintaan mill\u00e4\u00e4n tavalla. Nyppyj\u00e4 ei ole ilmestynyt edes neuleen sis\u00e4puolelle. Puen neuleen joka p\u00e4iv\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4lle aina yht\u00e4 suuren h\u00e4mm\u00e4styksen vallassa. Neuleeseen on k\u00e4ytetty 70% karitsanvillaa, 20% angoraa ja 10% nylonia eli polyamidia. Koska polyamidin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 on noin v\u00e4h\u00e4inen sit\u00e4 on selke\u00e4sti lis\u00e4tty tuomaan lankaan parempaa kest\u00e4vyytt\u00e4, ei edullisemman materiaalikustannuksen vuoksi. Itse en vaan voi uskoa ett\u00e4 mulla k\u00e4vi n\u00e4in hyv\u00e4 tuuri, sain laadukkaaksi osoittautuneen neuleen 16\u20ac:lla (alkuper\u00e4isest\u00e4 hinnastahan minulla ei ole tietoa)<\/strong><\/span>. Haluaisinkin nyt kuulla teid\u00e4n kokemuksianne ja kertomuksianne neuleista ja niiden laadusta.<\/p>\n

\nSomeone asked some time ago, is it possible to tell in the shop, which knit is going to create pilling<\/a> and which not. High price or quality brand don’t seem to give clue of that often enough. I answered something about the quality of the yarn, length of the fiber and that sort unhelpful stuff. Well now I have answer that is based on my own experience: you can’t tell. Finding a knit that doesn’t do pilling seems to be just pure luck more than anything.<\/p>\n

Some time before Christmas me and my hubby went thrifting to find some Christmas presents. On that same trip I found long wool cardigan I have been looking for quite long time. It was 16 \u20ac, a bit more than what I usually pay for thrifted clothes. However I thought that I probably won’t be able to find proper wool cardi cheaper than this, so what the heck. It’s from Stockmann Global Sport collection (house label of high quality department store in Finland)<\/strong><\/span>. I have always thought that this collection is sort of reasonably priced. Never thought it would be particularly high quality either, perhaps somewhere in the middle, depending on the product. So I wasn’t expecting anything special, because I have also seen the other end. Jersey top I bought last autumn was pretty much covered with pilling after one day of use.<\/p>\n

I have been using the cardi pretty much daily since I bought it and I have to say, I am mostly amazed. Not even single little fiber pill anywhere. Typically pilling appears on places which are under heavy rubbing like sides under arms, collar, bodice, sleeves. This cardigan doesn’t have any pilling. Two months very active use hasn’t affected on the surface at all. There isn’t any pilling on the inside of the garment either. I wear it every day with such a big amazement. It’s made of 70% lambswool, 20% angora and 10% nylon aka polyamide. Because the amount of polyamide is so small, it has clearly been used just to add more durability, rather than to gain cheaper material costs. I just can’t belive that I got this lucky. I got very good quality product with just 16 \u20ac (I don’t know what the original price for the new product would have been)<\/strong><\/span>. So now I would be very interested to hear your experiences and stories with knits and their quality.<\/p>\n
