Viime sunnuntaina minut oli kutsuttu Mekkosw\u00e4ppiin. Se on kuin yksityiskirppis jossa ihmiset kokoontuvat jonkun kotiin tarpeettomine vaatteineen, vaihtamaan ja myym\u00e4\u00e4n niit\u00e4.\u00a0 En ollut koskaan aikaisemmin ollut mukana Mekkosw\u00e4piss\u00e4 mutta idea kuulosti erinomaiselta joten ajattelin ett\u00e4 voisin kirjoittaa siit\u00e4 my\u00f6s Tamperelaisen Tyyli\u00e4 & Tuunausta-palstalle. Tarjottavat hoidettiin nyyttikestiperiaatteella. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 teille pieni ohje miten Mekkosw\u00e4ppiin valmistautuminen sujuu.<\/p>\n

1. Valmista tarjottava, t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tapauksessa pakastealtaan kinkkupasteijat.
\n2. Pakkaa ne pussiin ja j\u00e4t\u00e4 keitti\u00f6n p\u00f6yd\u00e4lle odottamaan.
\n3. Pakkaa myyt\u00e4v\u00e4t vaatteet ja asusteet.
\n4. Valmistaudu l\u00e4ht\u00f6\u00f6n. Ota vaatekassi ja k\u00e4sveska ja poistu ovesta.
\n5. K\u00e4vele hissiin.
\n6. Poistuessasi hissist\u00e4 alimmassa kerroksessa, tajua ett\u00e4 j\u00e4tit kotiin kamerasi jolla piti ottaa kuvat lehtijuttua varten.
\n7. Palaa hissill\u00e4 ylimp\u00e4\u00e4n kerrokseen hakemaan kameraa.
\n8. Astu hissiin.
\n9. Poistuessasi hissist\u00e4 alhaalla, tajua ett\u00e4 kinkkupasteijat ovat edelleen keitti\u00f6n p\u00f6yd\u00e4ll\u00e4.
\n10. Palaa hissill\u00e4 ylimp\u00e4\u00e4n kerrokseen hakemaan pasteijoita.
\n11. Nappaa pasteijat p\u00f6yd\u00e4lt\u00e4 ja kuuntele 15 sekuntia kuinka avopuolisosi nauraa sinulle \u00e4\u00e4neen.
\n12. Poistu huoneistosta, k\u00e4vele hissiin ja astu hissist\u00e4 alimmassa kerroksessa.
\n13. Pys\u00e4hdy hetkeksi hissin ulkopuolelle ja mieti mit\u00e4 unohdit t\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa.
\n14. Tajuttuasi ett\u00e4 kaikki on viimein mukana, k\u00e4vele\u00a0 autollesi.<\/p>\n

Olen usein todennut ett\u00e4 el\u00e4m\u00e4ni muistuttaa elokuvaa, l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 sellaista hieman surkuhupaisaa komediaa. Onhan se tietysti ihan kiva olla oman el\u00e4m\u00e4ns\u00e4 filmit\u00e4hti, mutta toisinaan olisi kiva el\u00e4\u00e4 ihan sellaista rauhallista ja hiljaista tyls\u00e4\u00e4 el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 kun ei tapahdu mit\u00e4\u00e4n kommelluksia. \nLast Sunday I was invited to Dress Swap Meet. It’s like private thrift shop in someones home, where people bring clothes and accessories they don’t need, for selling of swapping. I’ve never been in one before, but it sounded so much fun I also decided to write article about it in the local newspaper.\u00a0 All participants also agreed to bring some snacks for nibbling. Here’s my checklist how to prepare for Dress Swap.<\/p>\n

1. Prepare the snack, in my case some ham pastries.
\n2. Pack them in the bag and put on top of the kitchen counter.
\n3. Pack the clothes and accessories you are planning on selling\/swapping.
\n4. Get ready to leave. Take the clothing bag and handbag and step out of the door.
\n5. Walk into the lift.
\n6. When exiting the lift on the ground floor, realize that you left home your camera, with which you were supposed to take photos for the article.
\n7. Return to the top floor to get the camera.
\n8. Step into the lift.
\n9. When exiting the lift downstairs, realize that the pastries are still on the kitchen counter.
\n10. Return to the top floor to get the pastries.
\n11. Get them pastries and listen 15 seconds your hubby laughing at you out loud.
\n12. Leave the apartment, step into the lift and exit the lift on the ground floor.
\n13. Stop for the moment and think what might have you forgot this time.
\n14. After realizing you finally got everything, walk to your car.<\/p>\n

I have many times said that my life is like a movie, mostly comedy with a bit sad undertones. It is nice to be the filmstar of your own life, but sometimes it would be nice to life peacefull and boring life without any hickups. Well I finally made it to the Dress Swap and I got the article done aswell.<\/p>\n

Swap itself was delightful. We had mainly vintage stuff, but you can organize swap with modern clothes as well. You bring the stuff that you don’t need and swap or sell it to other people in the meeting. Even supermodel Twiggy had similar swap-events called Frock Exchange couple years back. All though these events were created as a tv-program, but you get the idea. In Twiggys swaps everyone brought only one or two items, but when you organize these swaps yourself you can bring bagfull of stuff. I had three bags full of dresses, shoes and other stuff. I got rid of two dresses. I swapped them for couple pieces of fabric and beret.<\/p>\n

There is couple ways of arranging the actual swap. Either you can negotiate swaps individually per item, or you can tag items into different price groups. You can swap items inside same price group or swap pricier for two cheaper, combined value matching the pricier item. Remember to keep your rates reasonable. And if needed, swaps can be also done for the money.<\/p>\n
