Olenko kertonut teille ett\u00e4 pid\u00e4n vanhoista junista? Olen tainnut jossakin ohimennen mainita. Sis\u00e4inen steampunkkarini rakastaa erityisesti h\u00f6yryjunia ja sametilla kuorrutettuja salonkivaunuja. Hohtavaksi kiillotetut lakatut puupanelit ja kullanloistavat messinkiosat saavat syd\u00e4meni l\u00e4p\u00e4tt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n innostuksissaan. Ja se h\u00f6yryveturin tuoksu, ah miten ihanaa.<\/p>\n

Viikonloppuna Tampereella oli tarjolla harvinaista herkkua. Kaupungissa vieraili nimitt\u00e4in VR:n 150-vuotis juhlan kunniaksi alkuvuodesta valmistunut, entis\u00f6ity Perinnejuna Valtteri<\/a>. Lauantaina juna ajelutti kaupunkilaisia rautatieasemalta Lielahteen ja takaisin. Min\u00e4 ja is\u00e4nt\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4simme koeajelulle jo perjantaina henkil\u00f6kunnan ajeluvuorolla. T\u00e4ytyy sanoa ett\u00e4 hienoa ty\u00f6t\u00e4 ovat entis\u00f6ij\u00e4t tehneet. Junaan kuuluu kolmannen luokan vaunu nahkap\u00e4\u00e4llysteisine puupenkkeineen, yhdistetty kondukt\u00f6\u00f6ri- & 2. luokan vaunu, yhdistetty kahvila- & 2. luokan vaunu sek\u00e4 hulppea vuonna 1927 valmistunut yksityinen salonkivaunu. Olen aina haaveillut vanhassa junassa matkustamisesta ja nyt se vihdoin toteutui. Seuraavaksi se pit\u00e4\u00e4 toteuttaa vintage-vaatteisiin puettuna. Valtterista l\u00f6ytyy juttu uusimmasta Glorian Antiikista. Itse kirjoitin vanhoista junista viimeksi t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vanhaan tyyliin matkustaminen on nyt muodissa kuten kaikki muukin vintage. Sitten kun tulen v\u00e4h\u00e4n rikkaammaksi haluan matkustaa Orient Expressill\u00e4<\/a> Lontoosta Venetsiaan. Tai ehk\u00e4 Istanbulista Pariisiin kuten Hercule Poirot legendaarisessa Id\u00e4n Pikajunan arvoituksessa. Tai ehk\u00e4 varaankin huoneen entiselt\u00e4 Cunard Linen loistoristeilij\u00e4lt\u00e4, Queen Marylt\u00e4<\/a> ja leikin Titanicia. Queen Mary valmistui 30-luvulla Englannissa ja on nyttemmin entis\u00f6ity vanhaan loistoonsa vaikka on ehtinyt t\u00e4ss\u00e4 v\u00e4liss\u00e4 palvella jopa sodassa. Ja mik\u00e4 j\u00e4nnitt\u00e4vint\u00e4, laivalla kerrotaan kummittelevan, siell\u00e4 on hyttej\u00e4 joissa ei koskaan y\u00f6vyt\u00e4. Have I told you that I like old trains? I might have in some other occasion. My inner steampunk-lover has a soft spot for steam engines and saloon carriages covered with velvet. Polished varnished wood panels and shiny brass parts make my heart jump. And the smell of the steam engine, oh how lovely that is.<\/p>\n

Last weekend there was rare opportunity in Tampere to see one of those treasures. VR (engl. State Railroads)<\/strong><\/span> has 150 years anniversary this year and they had couple old carriages renovated for the occasion. Traditional train Valtteri took citicens to a ride from the trainstation to old trainstop nearby and back. Me and my hubby got to do the ride already on friday when VR had reserved the train for their staff. I have to say that preservation was done very nicely, everything looked very posh. Train includes 3rd class carriage with wooden benches (from 1947)<\/strong><\/span>, combined conductors & 2nd class carriage (from 50’s)<\/strong><\/span>, combined cafe & 2nd class carriage (from 50’s)<\/strong><\/span> and private saloon carriage, made in 1927. I have always dreamt of travelling in old train and now it finally happened. Next I have to do it wearing vintage. Last time I wrote about old trains here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Travelling old style is in fashion now, just like anything else vintage. When I become rich I want to travel on Orient Express<\/a> from London to Venice. Or perhaps from Istanbul to Paris, just like Hercule Poirot in the legendary murder mystery. Or perhaps I reserve room from the old Cunar Line cruiser, Queen Mary<\/a> and play Titanic. Queen Mary was made in 1930’s in England and is now restored to the old luxury, even though it has even served in the war between now and then. But the most exciting thing is the ship is haunted, there are cabins there that never get any visitors. I also wrote about old style travelling in my article in local newspaper.<\/p>\n
