Nyt pusero on kuitenkin k\u00e4ytt\u00f6valmis ja p\u00e4\u00e4si t\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n p\u00e4\u00e4lle\u00a0 DesignTorille.\u00a0 Toinen samaan aikaan valmistunut vaate on aavistuksenomaisesti kimaltava mekko (ty\u00f6n alla since 2009)<\/strong><\/span>, josta tulikin hame. Alkuper\u00e4inen mekkoideani ei toiminut joten pistin mekon keskelt\u00e4 poikki ja viimeistelin hameeksi. En ole viel\u00e4 ihan varma helman pituudesta. Mekonr\u00e4\u00e4ppeist\u00e4 ehk\u00e4 riitt\u00e4\u00e4 viel\u00e4 muutama suikale joilla saattaisi pysty\u00e4 helmaa v\u00e4h\u00e4n pident\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n. Ja sitten siihen DesignToriin. S\u00e4\u00e4 oli onneksi varsin l\u00e4mmin joten kylm\u00e4 Vaunuhalli ei sin\u00e4ns\u00e4 haitannut. Olin kuitenkin liev\u00e4sti yll\u00e4ttynyt siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 tapahtumapaikan lattia oli kivimurskaa ja karkeaa soraa. P\u00e4\u00e4lle levitetyt suuret matot eiv\u00e4t kamalasti auttaneet koska olivat paikoitellen niin mutkalla ett\u00e4 maton kulmiin ja kurttuihin kompasteli jokatoisella askeleella. Raahasin is\u00e4nn\u00e4n mukaan ja saavuimme paikalle puolen p\u00e4iv\u00e4n tiet\u00e4miss\u00e4. Valtaisa ryysis tarkoitti sit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 myyntip\u00f6ytien l\u00e4helle ei ollut toivoakaan p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 ihmismassan l\u00e4pi. MEAn Elina Mattilan suunnittelemat Origa-korut olivat innovatiivisia ja kiinnostavia. Mieleeni j\u00e4iv\u00e4t my\u00f6s v\u00e4rikynist\u00e4 valmistetut rintakorut toisessa p\u00f6yd\u00e4ss\u00e4. Muista myyjist\u00e4 mainittakoon hauska Avaruusmuovi<\/a> jonka hurjat sein\u00e4kellot ja upeat Kupla-lampunvarjostimet olivat mukavaa vaihtelua kovin geneeriseen tuotetarjontaan. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa plakkariin ei tarttunut mit\u00e4\u00e4n. Ahdistuin v\u00e4enpaljoudessa enk\u00e4 sitten jaksanut tutkailla p\u00f6yti\u00e4 sen pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n. Jos ette p\u00e4\u00e4sseet DesignTorille niin k\u00e4yk\u00e4\u00e4 silti katsomassa Sami Pesosen valokuvan\u00e4yttely joka on esill\u00e4 Vaunuhallissa koko viikon. Ja ensiviikon perjantaina, 30.9 kannattaa suunnata my\u00f6s Vaunuhallille sill\u00e4 luvassa on Exhibitionist-muotin\u00e4yt\u00f6s, jossa p\u00e4\u00e4see samalla kurkistamaan mit\u00e4 n\u00e4yt\u00f6ksen kulisseissa tapahtuu.<\/p>\n

\nSomething actually has been going on in my little sewing corner. I was finally able to finish my red silk blouse, which has been on the revamp-pile<\/a> for almost exactly one year. Most difficult part of it seemed to be the sleeves. I couldn’t decide what to do with them so I had to rethink it awhile. Now it is finally finished and I was able to wear it today for DesignMarket. Other thing that I was able to finish pretty much at the same time was my jersey dress (under construction since 2009)<\/strong><\/span>, which turned out to be a skirt in the end. My original idea for the dress didn’t work so I just cut it in half and finished the skirt-part. I’m not completely sure about the length though. There might be just enough scrap-fabric left for lengthening the hem if I decide to. Pattern for this jersey skirt is super easy and sewing is not much more complicated so shout yay! if you want me to make a tutorial for it<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

And to the DesignMarket. Weather was thankfully pretty warm so non-heated venue, Vaunuhalli didn’t bother me. I was, however, midly surprised that the venue flooring was just rubble and rough sand. Carpets that were spread over the rubble didn’t help much because people were thumbling on the corners and creases with every other step. I dragged my boyfriend along and we arrived around midday. Masses of people were pretty much preventing browsing the products. Thankfully I was actually able to see something when the crowd eased abit. I saw some fun prints on Kauniste<\/a> table and exciting leather print accessories on Uniqeco Design<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Again I have to say the same thing I have said many times before, no matter what the theme of the event is, there was way too much people selling jewelry. And there were way too many people selling acrylic jewelry, much more than last time. Most interesting jewelry was in MEA<\/a>-stall. Elina Mattila is the designer behind MEA and her jewelry was innovative and interesting. On another table there were also some interesting brooches made of coloured pencils. I also have to mention fun shop called Avaruusmuovi<\/a> (Space plastic)<\/strong><\/span> which had pretty fearce clocks and interesting lamp shades. This time I didn’t buy anything. I got stressed by the crowd and wanted to leave early. If you missed the Design Market, you can still go and see the photo exhitibion by Sami Pesonen next week in Vaunuhalli. It is also worth visiting on next friday, 30.9 because there will be Exhibitionist- fashion show where you get to peek behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
