Itse olen totaalisen hukassa vaatteideni kanssa sill\u00e4 vaatem\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 ei tahdo mahtua kaappeihin. Isoon vaatehuoneeseen tottuneena kest\u00e4\u00e4 kauan ennenkuin vaatteet l\u00f6yt\u00e4v\u00e4t sopiville paikoilleen kaapeissa. Siksi olenkin suurimman osan tammikuuta luuhannut samoissa vaatteissa ja vaihtanut sitten kun on ihan pakko. Lempparivaatteet ovat hautautuneet jonnekin vaatemassojen alle eik\u00e4 niit\u00e4 l\u00f6ydy ennenkuin vaatekaapit on ruodittu j\u00e4rjestykseen. Muuton hyv\u00e4 puoli kuitenkin on se ett\u00e4 saattaa l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 vaatteita joita ei ole k\u00e4ytt\u00e4nyt vuosiin mutta jotka nousevat arvoon arvaamattomaan tilanteen sit\u00e4 vaatiessa. Nyt tilanne vaatii.<\/span>

Olen muutosta<\/span> asti k\u00e4ytt\u00e4nyt vanhoja Evil Dressmaker-farkkuja<\/a> jotka alkavat olla aika kuluneet ja haaroista puhki. Pakkasp\u00e4iv\u00e4t ovat vaatineet l\u00e4mmint\u00e4 ylle ja kun farkut lensiv\u00e4t pyykkikoriin oli l\u00f6ydett\u00e4v\u00e4 jotain muuta l\u00e4mmitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4. Pelastukseksi osoittautuivat <\/span>villaiset <\/span>aidot 30-luvun miesten housut. 30-luvulla miesten muoti edellytti leveit\u00e4 lahkeita ja paljon kangasta (zoot pants)<\/span>. Vuosia sitten l\u00f6ysin sellaiset miesten housut kirpputorilta. Housut voi todeta aidoksi t<\/span>avaraksi sill\u00e4 niiss\u00e4 ei ole vetoketjua vaan napit, napinl\u00e4vet on ommeltu k\u00e4sin ja saumanvarat on huolitelty k\u00e4sinompeleella. L\u00f6ytyyp\u00e4 housuista sellainenkin hienous kuin kapea kangassuikale joka est\u00e4\u00e4 lahkeensuuta kulumasta kantap\u00e4\u00e4n kohdalta. Housut ovat siis huippulaatua. Jossain vaiheessa ne unohtuivat kaapin per\u00e4lle koon j\u00e4\u00e4ty\u00e4 liian pieneksi. Nyt housut mahtuvat<\/span> taas<\/span>. Lahkeita vain piti v\u00e4h\u00e4n pident\u00e4\u00e4, ne ovat alusta asti olleet himppasen naftit. Siisp\u00e4 behold: aidot pappahousut!<\/p>\n

<\/span>Downside on <\/span>moving is that you can’t find your stuff, even six months after you still can’t find them. I am totally lost with my clothes. All my clothes don’t fit in the closets properly. I am used to big walk-in-closet and now I have to try to figure it out how I arrange everything in small closet. That is the reason why I have been wearing same stuff since december. However all clothing need washing every now and then. My favourite clothes are buried somewhere under the masses and I can’t find them untill I have arranged everything properly. Good side about moving is, however, that you might find something that you haven’t worn in years but what comes in handy when situation requires. Now situation requires.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Since the move<\/span> I have been wearing my old Evil Dressmaker-jeans<\/a> which are now rather worn out and have holes on them. Freezing weather requires something warm to wear and when I had to put jeans in the wash I needed something else to warm me. My saviour was original men’s wool trousers from 30’s. In the 30’s mens fashion required wide trouser legs and lots of fabric<\/span> (zoot pants)<\/span>. Years ago I found one pair of those from thrift shop. You can say that they are real vintage trousers because they don’t have zipper but buttons, buttonholes are sewn by hand and also seam allowances are trimmed by hand. They even have narrow strip of fabric to protect the hem from wearing out where it touches heel. So they really are top quality and made by proper tailor. At some point they were forgotten at the back of my wardrobe because they didn’t fit me anymore. Now they fit again. I just had to adjust the trouser leg, they were a bit too short from the beginning. <\/span>So behold: real grandpa trousers!<\/p>\n
