Tunnustan olevani varsinainen kotikissa. Viihdyn kotonani niin hyvin ett\u00e4 harvoin huvittaa l\u00e4hte\u00e4 kotoa minnek\u00e4\u00e4n jos ei ole ihan pakko. Joskus kotoa l\u00e4hteminen kuitenkin kannattaa ja m\u00f6kkih\u00f6per\u00f6itymisen v\u00e4ltt\u00e4miseksi on suositeltavaa ainakin kerran vuosikymmeness\u00e4. Perjantaina koettiin j\u00e4nnitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 hetki\u00e4 kun grilli-iltamme kauniissa Toijalassa (siis mets\u00e4ss\u00e4)<\/strong><\/span> uhkasi saada surkean lopun. Onneksi ukkonen tyytyi vaan v\u00e4h\u00e4n jyrisem\u00e4\u00e4n ja ly\u00f6m\u00e4\u00e4n salamaa. Sadetta emme n\u00e4hneet. Sen sijaan vietimme varsin hauskan ja t\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4n illan mukavassa seurassa.<\/p>\n

Vieraspatjalla hyvin nukutun y\u00f6n j\u00e4lkeen suuntasimme jo aamutuimaan kohti perinteist\u00e4 Restaurantaa<\/a>. Vaikka myyntialue oli rakennusty\u00f6maan vuoksi l\u00e4hes puolet pienempi oli tavaratarjonta varsin runsasta. Tunnelma oli varsin hikinen sill\u00e4 aurinko on porottanut koko p\u00e4iv\u00e4n l\u00e4hes pilvett\u00f6m\u00e4lt\u00e4 taivaalta. Myyntip\u00f6yti\u00e4 ei olisikaan jaksanut kiert\u00e4\u00e4 kolmea tuntia kauempaa. Vaikka en ostanut kenki\u00e4, laukkuja enk\u00e4 vaatteita, tein muutaman varsin verrattoman l\u00f6yd\u00f6n: ison pakallisen vintage-pitsi\u00e4, kauniin hatun joka sai heti kohteliaisuuksia my\u00f6s tuntemattomilta ja pari rintakorua joista toinen osoittautui pikaisella googletuksella viktoriaaniseksi surukoruksi (mourning jewelry)<\/strong><\/span>. Viktoriaanisella ajalla mustat korut olivat muutenkin suosittuja, mutta erityisesti juuri suruaikana, joka sekin oli viktoriaanisella ajalla kovasti muotia. Ne oli usein valmistettu vulkaniitist\u00e4 jota saatiin sekoittamalla tyr\u00e4kki- tai fiikuspuun mahlaa rikkiin, tai gagaatista joka on kivettynytt\u00e4 puuta. T\u00e4m\u00e4 kukkia pitelev\u00e4 k\u00e4si on jompaa kumpaa mutta en osaa m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4\u00e4 kumpaa.<\/p>\n

\nI confess to be quite domestic person. I enjoy staying home so much that I rarely bother dragging my arse out of here, unless I absolutely have to. Sometimes leaving home is worth doing though, and recommended activity atleast once a decade to avoid cabin fever. On friday we had exciting moments in Toijala (which is in the middle of forest really)<\/strong><\/span> when thunder and lightnings threatened to ruin our grill party. Thankfully we didn’t see any rain despite of heavy thunder. So we managed to spend great and filling evening with lovely people.<\/p>\n

After well slept night we headed towards traditional Restauranta-event<\/a>, which is local carpart\/vintage\/antique\/crap swap. Even though they have now reduced the event area about half of what it was last year, there was still plenty to see and buy. Athmosphere was pretty sweaty since the sun has been shining whole day. So any more tables and stuff to go through would have been too much. Now it took us about three hours to wander around the area. Even though I didn’t buy any shoes, handbags nor clothes, I made couple pretty neat finds: large pack of vintage lace, gorgeous hat that immediately got compliments from strangers and two brooches. One of the two turned out to be victorian mourning jewelry (yes, I googled)<\/strong><\/span>. During Victorian period, black jewelry was popular, but especially during mourning, which also was a la mode at the time. They were most commonly made of vulcanite (made by mixing Euphorbia or Ficus tree sap with suplhur)<\/strong><\/span> or jet, which is fossilised wood. This hand holding flowers-brooch is either vulcanite or jet, but I can’t really tell which one.<\/p>\n
