Tuunattavassa kukkamekossa oli helmassa sormen ment\u00e4v\u00e4 reik\u00e4 jota en huomannut ostohetkell\u00e4. Onneksi sain lyhennetyist\u00e4 hihoista kangasta jolla pystyin paikkaamaan rei\u00e4n. Parhaiten t\u00e4m\u00e4 tapa toimii jos sinulla on varastossa samaa kangasta kuin korjattava puku. Muutakin kangasta voi toki k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 mutta paikasta ei koskaan tule yht\u00e4 huomaamatonta kuin puvun omasta kankaasta tehty. Homma on oikeastaan aika yksinkertainen, hankalaa on vain saada kuviot t\u00e4sm\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n. Sama tekniikka sopii my\u00f6s kudottuihin kuviollisiin kankaisiin kuten jaquard tai raitakankaat. Rei\u00e4n kohdalle j\u00e4\u00e4 kangasta kaksin ja kolminkertaisesti joten t\u00e4m\u00e4 ei sovellu l\u00e4pikuultaviin kankaisiin.<\/p>\n

\nThere was a hole in this flower dress I thrifted, which I didn’t notice untill at home. Thankfully I got some leftover fabric for mending when I shortened the sleeves. This method works best if you have same material available. You can use other fabrics aswel, but they never will be as unnoticable than exactly same fabric is. It is actually pretty simple job, trickiest bit is to make the patterns match. Same technique also works for jaquards and other fabrics with woven images & figures. Mended area will have two and three layers of fabric so this technique doesn’t suit for see-through materials.<\/p>\n

\n1. Reinforce around the hole with small running
\nstitches so it doesn’t get any bigger. Other option is to
\nsew small piece of thin fabric behind the hole.

2. Ota ylij\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4kankaasta kohta jossa on t\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen sama kuvio kuin rei\u00e4n kohdalla.
\nLeikkaa reik\u00e4\u00e4 suurempi pala jossa my\u00f6s n 0,5 – 1 cm saumanvaraa.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Take piece of excess fabric and cut piece larger than the hole,
\nleave about 0,5 – 1 cm seam allowance.
\nMatch the\u00a0 print to the area with the hole.<\/strong><\/span>

4. Pin the patch over the hole, match the print as close as possible.
