Sen lis\u00e4ksi ett\u00e4 olin aikonut tehd\u00e4 pari kes\u00e4mekkoa, aion my\u00f6s tuunata muutaman. Ensimm\u00e4isen\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4 90-luvun puuvillainen ruutumekko. Se oli edellisen omistajan suurentama, joten se vaati hieman pienennyst\u00e4. Poistin kainaloista kiilat, ompelin vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6lle muotolaskokset eteen ja taakse, lyhensin helmaa niin ett\u00e4 sain suikaleesta solmittavan vy\u00f6n ja koristelin mekon kirppikselt\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyneill\u00e4 brodeeratuilla kirsikoilla. Aika soppeli kes\u00e4mekko vai mit\u00e4! N\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 my\u00f6s hauskalta Pelastusarmeijalta l\u00f6ydetyn esiliinan kanssa. Esiliinan alkuper\u00e4 on h\u00e4m\u00e4r\u00e4n peitossa, mutta se muistuttaa hieman pikkulottien<\/a> sota-aikana k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mi\u00e4 esiliinoja<\/a>. Se on saattanut kuulua vaikkapa kotitalouskoululaiselle.<\/p>\n

* TUUNAUS-VINKKI<\/strong><\/span> *
\nKun lis\u00e4\u00e4t vaatteisiin v\u00e4rikk\u00e4it\u00e4 koristeluja, esim brodeerattuja kuvioita, rusetteja, nauhoja jne, kannattaa tehd\u00e4 ennen kiinnityst\u00e4 pieni pesukoe. Varsinkin jos vaate on t\u00e4ysin eriv\u00e4rinen kuin koriste. Ota pala vaaleaa kangasta ja kiinnit\u00e4 yksi kuvio tai pieni p\u00e4tk\u00e4 nauhaa (5-10 cm riitt\u00e4\u00e4)<\/strong><\/span> siihen k\u00e4sin tai koneella ommellen. Pist\u00e4 pesukoneeseen ja pese siin\u00e4 l\u00e4mp\u00f6tilassa kuin olet aikonut vaatetta pest\u00e4. Kun pesuohjelma on py\u00f6rinyt l\u00e4pi, ripusta tilkku kuivumaan normaalisti. Tilkun kuivuttua n\u00e4et kest\u00e4v\u00e4tk\u00f6 sen v\u00e4rit pesuissa levi\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00e4. Yleens\u00e4 v\u00e4rien ei pit\u00e4isi levit\u00e4, mutta jos kyseess\u00e4 on vaalea vaate ja koristelun v\u00e4rit kirkkaat on paras varmistaa ettei vaivalla ja rakkaudella tuunattu vaate mene pilalle ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 pesussa.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition to making couple summer dresses, I’m also going to revamp couple. First this 90’s cotton plaid dress. It was enlargened by previous owner, so it needed some intakes. I removed extendions from the armpits, did some darts on the waist (front and back)<\/strong><\/span>, shortened the hem so I could make belt from the leftover strip. And finally decorated with embroidery cherries I found from flea market. Rather nice summer dress, don’t you think! Dress also looks interesting with this white apron I found from Salvation Army charity shop. Origin of the apron is in the shade, but it reminds me a bit of the aprons<\/a> of finnish female volunteers called “pikkulotta” (young members of “Lotta Sw\u00e4rd”-organisation<\/a> which is the finnish equevalent for British Auxiliary Territorial Service)<\/strong><\/span> during The WWII. It might have been part of the outfit in household school.<\/p>\n

* DIY-TIP *<\/strong><\/span>
\nWhen you are adding separate bright coloured embellishments to your clothing, like embroidery figures, bows, ribbons etc. it is recommendable to do little wash test first. Especially if the garment is completely different colour than the decorations. Take a piece of light coloured fabric and attach one figure or short strip of ribbon (5-10 cm will do) on it by hand stiches or by machine. Wash it the way you would be washing your embellished garment. When washing is done hang the fabric sample to dry as normal. When it is dry you can see if the colours have hold in the wash or if they have bled. Usually there should not be any colour bleeding but when you have light colour garment it is always worth checking first. It would be a shame if your garment, revamped with effort and love would be ruined in the first wash.<\/p>\n
