Iso lattiakaivo o<\/span>n piripintaan t\u00e4ynn\u00e4 kuravett\u00e4. Huoltomies t\u00f6kkii kaivoon (joka siis noin metrin syvyinen 45x45cm kok<\/span><\/span>oinen, metallikannella peitetty aukko lattiassa)<\/span> kepill\u00e4 ja toteaa ett\u00e4 kaivon pohja on paksun hiekan peitossa eik\u00e4 keppikopelolla tunnu l\u00f6ytyv\u00e4n kaivon poistoviem\u00e4ri\u00e4. Ei auta muu kuin tilata pumppuauto. Pumppuautoa odotellessa en tietenk\u00e4\u00e4n voi pest\u00e4 loppuja \u00f6ljytahraisia paitoja, ettei kaivo tulvi uudelleen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Beginning of all evil: The Drain!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span>What was<\/span> that Murphy’s law again? Everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. And so it did. Last week my sewing machine went all wonky and started leaking oil on pure white shirts I was making. Streaks didn’t come visible untill next day. I had to postpone delivery day. I don’t think they would have appreciated yellow streakes on white shirts. What else can I do but to wash these shirts.<\/p>\n

Normally there<\/span> wouldn’t be anything special to it. Clothing into washing machine, <\/span>some stainremover, <\/span>washing powder in and it practically does the work itself. When machine is on the last spin and removing water you notice water on the floor. You check machine piping and thats ok. You check sink and it’s plumbing and its ok. Then you investicate more closely the large drain on the floor and notice that water is coming up from the holes in it. Immediate phonecall to the maintenance guy who rushes to see what’s going on. He opens the large floor drain (which is one meter deep about 45×45 cm hole on the floor, covered with metal lid)<\/span>. It is full to the brim with muddy water. He pokes around with a stick and figures it is full of sand and can’t find the exit drain. There is nothing else to do than order a pump vehicle to remove all the sand and water.<\/p>\n

While waiting<\/span> the pump vehicle I can’t do any more washing so that drain doesn’t flood again. Pump vehicle arrives in about two hours and sucks the water out. There is about 15 cm layer of mud and sand on the bottom of that floor drain. And couple big rocks aswell. When the drain is empty we realize there is no exit drain on it, so it must be only a overflow drain and the water shouldn’t even go there normally. That means there is another blockage somewhere. Plumbing-guy is able to locate that within couple meters away and cleans it in couple minutes. After that we fill the overflow drain half way to prevent bad smells coming up to the work space. Then just close the lid, clean the mess and notice that the floor needs painting, again. Put rest of the shirts to wash and discover that the delivery day is postponed again. Sewing machine repair-guy comes tomorrow or on wednesday.<\/p>\n

Ah, what<\/span> a lovely day for a seamstress! NOT!<\/p>\n
