Vuosi on vaihtunut ajat sitten ja olen pit\u00e4nyt hiukan lomaa blogista ja yritt\u00e4nyt orientoitua uusiin kuvioihin ja saada loman j\u00e4lkeen taas kiinni vanhoista. Pahoittelut etten ilmoitellut tauosta etuk\u00e4teen ja ett\u00e4 se venyi v\u00e4h\u00e4n pidemm\u00e4ksi kuin oli alunperin tarkoitus. Parin viikon mittainen joulutauko t\u00f6ist\u00e4 teki hyv\u00e4\u00e4. Olen aloitellut uusia projekteja, mutta my\u00f6s laiskotellut, joka sekin on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 v\u00e4lill\u00e4 kun meno alkaa muistuttaa karusellia. Vanha talo teett\u00e4\u00e4 n\u00e4it\u00e4 normaaleja kommervenkkej\u00e4\u00e4n, suihkun viem\u00e4ri meni nimitt\u00e4in j\u00e4lleen j\u00e4\u00e4h\u00e4n, kuten viime vuonnakin. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa saimme kuitenkin sen itse auki sulanapitokaapelin ja viem\u00e4rinavaajan avulla. Kunnes se j\u00e4\u00e4tyi uudelleen. Sitten hajosi vesivaraajan varoventtiili. Viem\u00e4rin j\u00e4\u00e4tynyt kohta on sulanapitokaapelin ulottumattomissa, eli jossakin 6 metrin p\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4, mutta ihmeellisesti kuitenkin vessan molemmat viem\u00e4rit toimivat. Vesivaraajan korjaaja totesi ett\u00e4 talo on melko jyrk\u00e4ss\u00e4 m\u00e4ess\u00e4, ehk\u00e4 viem\u00e4riputkeen on pit\u00e4nyt laittaa enemm\u00e4n pituutta jotta kaato ei ole liian jyrkk\u00e4. Sek\u00e4\u00e4n ei kuulemma ole hyv\u00e4, sen paremmin kuin liian loivakaan. Tied\u00e4 h\u00e4nt\u00e4, mutta tulevana kes\u00e4n\u00e4 on ilmeisesti ker\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4 rohkeutta ja k\u00f6mmitt\u00e4v\u00e4 talon alle tutkimaan mit\u00e4 rossipohja on sy\u00f6nyt ja miksi viem\u00e4ri p\u00e4\u00e4see j\u00e4\u00e4tym\u00e4\u00e4n. Kumpikaan meist\u00e4 ei odota sit\u00e4 hommaa kovin innolla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e4n\u00e4 vuonna muut hommat jatkuu melko lailla entisell\u00e4\u00e4n. Jatkan opiskeluja kansallispuku-alalla ja talon remontti edistynee omalla painollaan pala kerrallaan. Mit\u00e4 nyt nuo putkihommat voivat tehd\u00e4 muihin suunnitelmiin pienen viiv\u00e4styksen. Jos lattioita joudutaan avaamaan niin pikkuisen tekisi mieli vet\u00e4\u00e4 samalla koko vessa uusiksi ja asentaa sinne lattial\u00e4mmitys. Syist\u00e4 voi lukea lis\u00e4\u00e4 t\u00e4\u00e4lt\u00e4.<\/a> K\u00e4det kuitenkin syyhy\u00e4v\u00e4t p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 taas tapettihommiin, mutta viel\u00e4 pit\u00e4\u00e4 ihan v\u00e4h\u00e4n jaksaa odottaa sit\u00e4kin hommaa. Blogi jatkuu entisell\u00e4\u00e4n, toivon ett\u00e4 edes muutama lukija jaksaa t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 edelleen piipahtaa silloin t\u00e4ll\u00f6in. Postaustahti s\u00e4ilynee suunnilleen samana, noin kerta viikkoon, tai joskus joka toinen viikko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uusista asioista mainittakoon nyt ett\u00e4 hypp\u00e4sin kansallispuku-asioissa heti syv\u00e4\u00e4n p\u00e4\u00e4tyyn ja kuukausi sitten alkoikin ensimm\u00e4inen oma kansallispuku-kurssini Sastamalan opistossa. Pit\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4 peukkuja! Kurssi on t\u00e4ynn\u00e4, joten on toiveita ett\u00e4 saamme my\u00f6s ensi syksylle kansallispuku-kurssin opistoon. Pidin kuukausi sitten aiheesta my\u00f6skin luennon. Olen my\u00f6s lupautunut mukaan pariin muuhun kansallispuku-projektiin. Lis\u00e4ksi haaveilen tekev\u00e4ni harrastuspohjalta my\u00f6s muita kansanpuku-tyyppisi\u00e4 asioita t\u00e4n\u00e4 vuonna. Aika n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 mit\u00e4 kaikkea t\u00e4st\u00e4 poikiikaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alkuvuodesta on ehditty jo my\u00f6s surra, sill\u00e4 mummukisu, Y\u00f6n kuningatar Nyx Amanda on sairastellut kovin. Populaatiokissana Nyxin tarkka ik\u00e4 ei ole tiedossa, mutta nivelvaivat viittaisivat siihen ett\u00e4 ik\u00e4 alkaa jo painaa. Arvioiden mukaan Nyx olisi 7-8-vuotias, mutta saattaa olla vanhempikin. Nivelet alkavat nivelrikon vuoksi olla nyt siin\u00e4 kunnossa ett\u00e4 yhteinen aikamme on tulossa p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6kseen. Huomenna joudun soittelemaan el\u00e4inl\u00e4\u00e4k\u00e4rille ik\u00e4viss\u00e4 asioissa. Raskas viikko on siis luvassa. N\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 siis sille ett\u00e4 t\u00e4st\u00e4 vuodesta on tulossa melkoista vuoristorataa ja p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n kokemaan koko tunteiden kirjo. Toivotaan kuitenkin ett\u00e4 loppusaldo pysyisi plussan puolella siin\u00e4 vaiheessa kun ollaan taas vuoden viimeisess\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4ss\u00e4.<\/p>\n\n\n

The year has changed a while ago, and I have taken a little break from blogging and tried to orient myself to new patterns and get back to the old ones after the holidays. Apologies for not announcing the blog break and also that it extended a bit longer than originally intended. The two-week Christmas break from work did me good. I’ve started some new projects, but I’ve also been lazy, which is important sometimes when life starts to feel like a merry-go-round. The old house is acting up as usual; the shower drain froze again, just like last year. This time, however, we were able to unfreeze it ourselves with a heating cable and a drain opener. Until it froze again. Then the safety valve on the water heater broke. The frozen section of the drain is out of reach of the heating cable, about 6 meters away, but miraculously, both drains in the restroom are working. The plumber said that the house is on a fairly steep hill, so perhaps the drain pipe needed to be longer to prevent the slope from being too steep. Apparently, that’s not good either, any more than a slope that’s too gentle. I don’t know about that, but this summer we will apparently have to pluck up our courage and crawl under the house to investigate what is going on at the crawl space and why the drain freezes. Neither of us is looking forward to that task very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, other tasks will continue pretty much as before. I will continue my studies in the field of national costumes, and the renovation of the house will progress at its own pace, piece by piece. The plumbing work may cause a slight delay to other plans though. If the floors have to be opened up, I’d like to renovate the entire restroom and install underfloor heating. You can read more about the reasons in this pos<\/a>t. My hands are itching to get back to wallpapering, but I’ll have to wait a little longer for that. The blog will continue as usual, and I hope that at least a few readers will continue to drop by from time to time. The posting frequency will remain roughly the same, about once a week, or sometimes every other week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the new things to mention is that I jumped right into the deep end of national costume matters, and a month ago I started my first national costume course at the Sastamala Adult College. Keep your fingers crossed! The course is full, so I hope we can have another national costume course next Autumn. I also gave a lecture on the subject a about a month ago. I have also agreed to participate in couple other national costume project. In addition, I dream of doing other folk costume-related things as a hobby this year. Time will tell what will come of all this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beginning of the year has also been a sad one, as Nyx Amanda, the Queen of the Night, has been very ill. As a feral cat, Nyx’s exact age is unknown, but her joint problems suggest that she is getting on in years. According to estimates, Nyx is 7-8 years old, but she may be even older. Due to osteoarthritis, her joints are now in such a condition that our time together is coming to an end. Tomorrow I will have to call the vet about unpleasant matter. So, it’s going to be a rough week. It looks like this year is going to be quite a roller coaster ride, with a whole range of emotions to experience. Let’s hope that the final balance will still be on the positive side when we reach the last day of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n
