Muutama vuosi sitten n\u00e4in Instagramissa tai Pinterestiss\u00e4 ihanan kuohkean itse tehdyn pompulamaton. Siit\u00e4 asti olen haaveillut sellaisesta vessaan jalkoja l\u00e4mmitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n talvisin. Taisin siit\u00e4 mainitakin postauksessa jossa tein vessaan muotoillun villamaton<\/a>. Aloinkin pompulamattoa tekem\u00e4\u00e4n, mutta perinteisell\u00e4 kartonkirinkula-menetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4 se oli aivan k\u00e4sitt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4n hidasta puuhaa. En p\u00e4\u00e4ssyt kovin pitk\u00e4lle kun into jo lopahti. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mutta arvatkaas mit\u00e4. Niinp\u00e4 minulla on nyt tuollainen vihre\u00e4, pehme\u00e4\u00e4 mets\u00e4n sammalmattoa muistuttava pompulamaton tehelm\u00e4. T\u00e4st\u00e4 puuttuu en\u00e4\u00e4 noin puolet. Sain mukaan viel\u00e4 pari vajaata lankaker\u00e4\u00e4 hommaa edist\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olen my\u00f6s p\u00e4\u00e4ssyt pompula-tehtailussa edistyneemm\u00e4lle tasolle. Sain nimitt\u00e4in \u00e4idilt\u00e4ni joskus parisen vuotta sitten tuollaisia pompula-ty\u00f6kaluja joilla pompulan teon pit\u00e4isi onnistua viel\u00e4 helpommin. Ei tarvitse olla jatkuvasti leikkaamassa uusia pahvirinkuloita. En viel\u00e4 ole ehtinyt testata miten nuo pompulaty\u00f6kalut toimivat, mutta nyt kun minulla on tuo hieno vihre\u00e4 sammalmatto on pakko tehd\u00e4 se valmiiksi. En ole varma ett\u00e4 raaskinko t\u00e4m\u00e4n vessan matoksi pist\u00e4\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 olisi aivan ihana s\u00e4ngynvierusmatto. Couple years ago I saw either on Instagram or Pinterest lovely handcrafted fluffy, soft pompom rug. Ever since I have dreamt of having one in the loo, to warm our feet in the winter. I probably mentioned in the post where I made the shaped wool rug<\/a> to keep the floor warm. I started to make one, but with the traditional method by cutting rings from cardboard it was utterly slow job. I didn’t make very far when I already lost my interest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But guess what. Some time ago someone was giving away half-made pompom rug on our local Facebook fleamarket, for the price of sweetiebox. No-one is surprised when I say that in a flash I was at the sweetie shelf in the shop, buying some. So now I have half-made green, soft mossy pompom rug. Only half needs doing. I also got couple opened rolls of yarn for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also advanced to next level on making the pompoms. Couple years ago mum gave me bag of pompom tools. They should turn pompom making faster and easier. Then I don’t have keep cutting more and more cardboard circles anymore. I haven’t had the chance to test the tools yet, but now when I have that green moss-rug, I just have to finish it. I’m not sure if I dare to put the rug in the toilet. It would be absolutely fabulous bedside rug. It would be awesome to dig my toes into the soft mossyness in the summer mornings. In the winter time floors are too drafty to go without wool sock for very long. Now I have to figure out how to prevent the rug edges from turning under. The pompoms are so heavy and the netbase so light. Previous maker has crocheted the edge to support it, but it’s too soft to prevent the turning. I also happily accept donations of green leftover yarns (and also natural shades of white, beige or gray for my other rug) if readers want to get rid of their left overs. <\/p>\n\n\n
