Mutta l\u00e4mmitell\u00e4\u00e4n nyt hiukan joulukalenteria varten ja otetaan t\u00e4h\u00e4n v\u00e4liin yksi sellainen. Useimmat py\u00f6r\u00e4kuvani ovat tuntemattomista ihmisist\u00e4, mutta muutamissa kuvissa l\u00f6ytyy l\u00e4hiperhett\u00e4 ja sukulaisia. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 60-luvulla otetussa kuvassa on mummoni, \u00e4itini \u00e4iti. Rupluusimummu kuten h\u00e4n meille lapsenlapsille itse itse\u00e4\u00e4n kutsui. Koskaan ei oikein selvinnyt mit\u00e4 se rupluusi tarkotti. H\u00e4n oli hyv\u00e4ntahtoinen mutta r\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4suinen nainen jonka kahvi oli aina niin vahvaa ett\u00e4 lusikka seisoi siin\u00e4 pystyss\u00e4 ja pullat niin kovia ett\u00e4 h\u00e4n itse kutsui niit\u00e4 j\u00e4nnek\u00e4\u00e4viksi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kuvassa rupluusimummi seisoo kotipihassa, l\u00e4hd\u00f6ss\u00e4 py\u00f6r\u00e4ll\u00e4 t\u00f6ihin. H\u00e4n, kuten p\u00e4\u00e4osin muukin perhe ja suuri osa paikkakunnan asukkaista oli t\u00f6iss\u00e4 paperitehtaalla, silloin kun Suomi eli viel\u00e4 nousukautta ja paperivienti oli kukkeimmillaan. Paperity\u00f6l\u00e4inen oli k\u00e4site, josta me lapset emme ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4neet mit\u00e4\u00e4n, mutta josta kuulimme jatkuvasti tarinoita, ehk\u00e4 osin v\u00e4h\u00e4n v\u00e4ritettyj\u00e4kin. Mummulla on p\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4\u00e4n tyypillinen 60-luvun takki, sen alla jonkinlainen mekko ja aikakauden tyypilliset keng\u00e4t. P\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4 baskeri joita h\u00e4n k\u00e4ytti paljon my\u00f6hemminkin. Taustalla n\u00e4kyy naapureiden taloja. Jos en v\u00e4\u00e4rin muista niin kaikki kadun talot olivat paperity\u00f6l\u00e4isille rakennutettuja. Kuva on luonnollisesti ajalta ennen minua. Omissa muistoissani pihat olivat vehre\u00e4mpi\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n

Again I forgot the bikephoto of the month, for whole spring and summer. But let’s have a bit of a warmup for Christmas calendar and post one bike photo, shall we. Most bike photos I have, are of unknown people, but in some photos there are relatives and family. This 60’s photo is of my grandma, mum’s mum. She called herself rupluusi granny, to us grandkids. I still don’t know what it means and I don’t think it’s translatable either. She always meant well, but had a bit of a potty mouth. Her coffee was so strong the spoon could stand in it and her buns were so hard she called them tendon polypores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the photo granny is standing by her bike at home yard, about to go to work. She like most of the family, and the town folks worked at the local papermill. It was the time when Finland was moving up and forward and paper export was growing fast. Paper worker was a concept us kids didn’t really understand, but we heard stories all the time. I’m sure some of them were a bit coloured stories. Granny is wearing typical 60’s coat and shoes, some sort of dress underneath the coat. She’s got beret on. She wore those often later aswell. Neighbours houses can be seen at the background. If I remember right, they were all built for paperworkers families. Of course, this photo was taken well before my time.
