Yleisesti vaikuttaa sille ett\u00e4 termi\u00e4 vyyhdinpuut ja kerinpuut k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n ristiin my\u00f6skin sen sateenvarjon n\u00e4k\u00f6isen h\u00e4kkyr\u00e4n kanssa. Minulle t\u00e4m\u00e4 on aina ollut vyyhdinpuu (toiselta nimelt\u00e4\u00e4n h\u00e4rveli) ja se toinen kerinpuu, siit\u00e4 yksinkertaisesta syyst\u00e4 ett\u00e4 t\u00e4ll\u00e4 tehd\u00e4\u00e4n langasta vyyhtej\u00e4, ja sill\u00e4 toisella kerit\u00e4\u00e4n vyyhdilt\u00e4 ker\u00e4ksi. Minulla on itseasiassa yst\u00e4v\u00e4lt\u00e4 saatu toinenkin vyyhdinpuu, mutta siit\u00e4 puuttuu osia, joten se ei ole toimiva. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 vyyhdinpuussa on viel\u00e4 pieni mekanismi jolla yksi sakara taittuu, jotta vyyhti on helppo saada pois puista. I was finally able to find the hank winder I had been looking for quite some time. I actually have another winder, but it’s missing some parts, so it’s not operational, only a decoration. This one, however, is working. It is actually quite lovely item, with counter and all. I haven’t been able to find a year from it, but based on the parts, and over all look, I’d say it must be well over 100 years old. Unfortunately the lid covering mechanism is missing, but that doesn’t affect on the use. It is possible that the missing lid had the year on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am pretty excited about this find, because it’s got lovely rotating counter on it. Gap between two lines on the counter means 20 revolutions. This way you are able to place the ties after equal amount of threads. With this method you are able to make the hanks and skeins equal lengths. I also really like the wooden screws and cogs on these old tools. They have some sort of old charm to them, which modern tools lack. This hank winder also has folding arm, which makes it easier to remove the hank from the winder. I will need this winder later when I have washed the yarns I spun. <\/p>\n\n\n
