    When you are attending living history or re-enactment events, modern phones can stick to your eye like horse carriage in a city. For that reason I made this secret phone case, so that if needed I can sit with my phone in historical event a bit more discrete. It doesn’t happen often, but atleast I feel more comfortable when no-one can see the phone, but if I need it, it is easily accessible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You need<\/strong>
    pretty, old book
    pencil
    gluestick
    metal ruler
    carpet knife
    piece of silk ribbon
    your mobile phone<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open the book at the point you want, from the beninning pages or allmost halfway through the book. The thicker the phone, the closer to the opening pages you should open the book, otherwise there might not be enough space for the phone inside the book.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Draw an outline of the phone on the right side of the pages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Glue as many pages together as the thickness of the phone. Glue only the edges of the pages and leave the centre unglued. Carefully align the pages as you glue them together and press the book closed for a moment after gluing each page, otherwise the book will go crooked. Press firmly for a moment on each edge of the book to make pages sticks together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Once you have glued enough pages together and the glue has dried properly, cut a hole big enough to fit the phone, following the outline you drew. Use metal ruler as a cutting guide for straight edges. Cut only the pages you’ve glued, using cardboard to protect the pages and cover at the back of the book if necessary. Every now and then, check that the hole is the right size for your phone. Too big hole is not a good idea as the phone won’t stay in place properly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Check that the hole you cut is deep enough for your phone. Then glue a few pages from the end of the book behind the hole to prevent the phone from slipping out of the hole. You can even glue all the remaining pages. Again, remember to close the book for a moment after each page you glue to make it even.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. If you wish, you can also glue the pages together from the front of the opening, but do not glue them to the edges of the opening. However, this is not necessary, you can leave all front pages unglued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. If the phone sits very snugly in the hole, glue a thin silk ribbon to the bottom of the hole, around the middle. Leave the end hanging out, just like a bookmark. To get the phone out of the hole easily just lift the tape.

      Additional features<\/strong>
      If you wish, you can add extra features such as a hole in the back cover for taking photos. Size and position the opening according to the position of your phone’s camera and flash. You can also add a ribbon and button to the outside of the book for a secure closure. Or craft a flap on the front of the book with a few glued-together pages and cut a hole slightly smaller than the phone, but large enough not to block the touchscreen. This prevents the phone from falling out of the book. The flap must be attached to the back of the book, for example with small ties.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Leftover scraps from the book or any paper crafting can be used for easy holiday decoration. You need square pieces of paper in identical size and gluestick. Fold each square according to this guide<\/a>. Glue 5-8 folded pieces together to create a star and hang them where ever you wish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
