<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\nMy favoruite time of the year Halloween or Kekri in Finnish is here. We didn’t really have time to decorate the house much this year, but I spent some time to create myself a suitable jumper. I have been looking for a cobweb jumber or cardi for years now, but I haven’t found suitable one from flea markets or charity shops. And I haven’t had the time to knit one either. So one evening all of a sudden I got brilliant idea! I have old jumper in my wardrobe, why not decorate that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Believe it or not, but this jumper really is ancient bt modern measure. It has been seen in my blog many times and first time was<\/a> in the year when this blog was born, in the autumn of 2008. And it still keeps going strong! The more unbelievable thing is that this jumper is actually from H&M. I don’t think you can get as durable garments from them anymore. I think it’s safe to say that this jumper definitely has been worth every penny and possibly already compensated it’s carbon footprint by it’s lifecycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this household ideas turn into making faster than sound, so it didn’t take me two minutes to launch this project. This is the reason why I L-O-V-E to have all sorts of handcrafting materials at home. You never know when the inspiration hits. Like now, it happened 10 o’clock in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I sketched the cobweb on the jumper and dug out my old stash of leftover wedding gown decorations. And voil\u00e1, we have a cobweb jumper. It took me three evenings to embroider it. Well, in reality the evening almost turned into sleepless night, when I didn’t dare to stop. All sequins and rhinestones are leftovers from the time when I used to make wedding gown alterations professionally. There was always some leftover beads and sequins. I kept them in case I needed to add more to some dresses. It was much easier to dig into the stash of similar decoration than start hunting correct colours and styles in bead shops. I probably won’t repair any more wedding gowns, so it was time to put these leftovers into good use. There is lot of variety on sizes and styles of the sequins. Some of them have holograms and some are iridescent. I didn’t really designed how they go on, but rather embroidered them in random order. I think it makes the result look lively, just like the dewdrops on cobweb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lempi-juhlani Halloween eli suomalaisittain kekri on taas k\u00e4sill\u00e4. For the halloween-weekend I wore all black outfit (except woolsocks). Black pussybow blouse was bought almost as long ago as the jumper, although it is 70’s-80’s vintage (funny to mention 80’s cloths as vintage, but it is starting to be old enough).
