Pitk\u00e4st\u00e4 aikaa sain yhden projektin valmiiksi. Lopen kansallispuvun tykkimyssy on nimitt\u00e4in vihdoin valmis. Mik\u00e4\u00e4n pikainen v\u00e4lity\u00f6-projekti t\u00e4m\u00e4 ei todellakaan ollut. Viime talvena k\u00e4vin tekem\u00e4ss\u00e4<\/a> kopan sanomalehtipaperista, pellavasta ja ruispuuroliisterist\u00e4. Kes\u00e4n vietin rattoisasti valitsemalla ja kirjomalla silkki\u00e4 ja sitten koppa piti viel\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4llyst\u00e4\u00e4 silkill\u00e4 ja koristella nauhoin. Sen k\u00e4vin tekem\u00e4ss\u00e4 kurssilla viikko sitten ja viimeistelin koristenauhojen kiinnityksen ja muhkean rusetin kotona. Myssyn kanssa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n kirjailtua tyllipitsi-tykki\u00e4. Se pit\u00e4nee valmistaa seuraavaksi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tehnyt t\u00e4t\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n hommaa itselleni mill\u00e4\u00e4n tavalla helpoksi. Alunperin kun puku on koottu, siihen on valittu tietynlaiset kankaat. Koska kyse on teollisista kankaista niiden saatavuus vaihtelee. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 ei l\u00f6ydy juuri t\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen samans\u00e4vyist\u00e4 silkki\u00e4, ei samoja kirjailulankoja, eik\u00e4 samoja koristenauhojakaan. N\u00e4hty\u00e4ni ompeluohjeeseen valitun silkin mallitilkun, en tietysti en\u00e4\u00e4 kelpuuttanut muita vaihtoehtoja. Lopulta valitsin vedensinivihre\u00e4n silkin joka oli l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 nauhojen v\u00e4ri\u00e4. En erityisemmin pid\u00e4 tuosta vihre\u00e4valkoisesta koristenauhasta. Tykkimyssyn ohjeessa kuvailussa nauhassa pit\u00e4isi olla violettia ja kultaa, t\u00e4ss\u00e4 ei ole kumpaakaan. Saatan etsi\u00e4 sen tilalle viel\u00e4 jotakin muuta tai paremman puutteessa kirjailla nauhaan lis\u00e4ksi kultaa ja violettia. Olen n\u00e4hnyt rusetista ainakin nelj\u00e4 erilaisia variaatioita erilaisin koristenauhoin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiilikset:
<\/strong>Vaikeinta oli kopan valmistus. Sanomalehdest\u00e4 revittyj\u00e4 suikaleita liimattiin toisiinsa useita kerroksia ruisjauhoista keitetyll\u00e4 liisterill\u00e4. Koppaan piti muotoilla takaosaan laskokset jotka olivat mielest\u00e4ni todella vaikeat toteuttaa. Kurssin ohjaajamme sanoi ett\u00e4 yleens\u00e4 ensimm\u00e4inen tykkimyssy ei onnistu ihan t\u00e4ydellisesti. Siin\u00e4 h\u00e4n kyll\u00e4 oli aivan oikeassa. Seuraava kuulemma on sitten jo helpompi tehd\u00e4. Sormet joutuivat my\u00f6s melko koville sill\u00e4 pehmuste ja silkki pit\u00e4\u00e4 ommella kiinni paperikerroksiin. Hidast\u00f6isint\u00e4 oli silkin kirjailu. Pelk\u00e4sin jatkuvasti tahrivani ja pilaavani silkkikankaan. Lopputulos on kuitenkin aivan kelpoisa tykkimyssy. <\/p>\n\n\n

After a long time I finally have something finished. Cap for Loppi region national costume is finally fisnihed. By no means, this wasn’t a fast little side project. Last winter I took part<\/a> on a weekend workshop for making the cap base of newspapers and rye porridge glue. After that I spent the Summer by choosing the correct silk and embroidering the decorations. And last weekend I went to another weekend workshop to combine these two together. Next project is the tulle lace to go with the cap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t make this job easy for myself. Originally when this costume has been put together, specialists have chosen certain type of fabrics. Because they are factory-made, the availability varies. At the moment those fabrics are not available. Not the exact colours for the silk, embroidery yarns nor decorative ribbons. After seeing the sample colour on the instructions, I didn’t really like any suggested materials available. In the end I chose aqua blue-green silk, which matches best with the ribbons. I’m not overly fond of the decorative white-and-green ribbon. According to the description it’s supposed to have lilac and gold, this has neither. I might search for better options later, or just embroider this ribbon with lilac and gold. I have seen atleast four different variations of the bow ribbons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How was it:<\/strong>
Most difficult thing was making the newspaper cap. Several layers of newspaper strips were glued to each other with rye porridge glue. Cap needed pleats, formed from the newspapers, which were really difficult to create in my opinion. Our teacher said that usually first cap is not so good, and she was correct there. But according to her, the next one is already much easier to make. Fingers were suffering quite a bit, because the padding and silk had to be sewn on the paper. Most time consuming task was the embroidery. I was constantly suffering of fear of smearing or damaging the fabric. Result, however, is pretty good cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embroidery was very meticulous job. Chain stitches were supposed to be 1 mm long. They aren’t exactly that small, but pretty decent anyways. <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Silkin ja nauhojen v\u00e4ri\u00e4 on todella vaikea saada kuvaan oikein. Rusetin nauhat ovat todellisuudessa vihert\u00e4v\u00e4mm\u00e4t kuin kuvassa. Rusetti ei ole t\u00e4ss\u00e4 viel\u00e4 lopullisessa kuosissaan. Saatan joutua hiukan lyhent\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n sit\u00e4 sill\u00e4 nyt se on aivan valtava ja peitt\u00e4\u00e4 myssyn melkein kokonaan. \/
It is really difficult to photograph the colours correctly. Ribbons on the bow are more green in reality than on the photo. Bow is not finished here.
