Ja joo, eih\u00e4n se M\u00e4nts\u00e4l\u00e4n puku viel\u00e4 ole edes valmis. Mutta koska toiveita on ett\u00e4 se ehk\u00e4 valmistuu tulevaksi kes\u00e4ksi niin piti sitten aloittaa uutta jo. Itseasiassa bongasin aivan sattumalta aiheeseen sopivan kurssin joten oli ihan suorastaan pakko menn\u00e4 mukaan. Ihan vaan siksi ett\u00e4 n\u00e4ist\u00e4 erikoisemmista ei ikin\u00e4 tied\u00e4 koska seuraavan kerran on mahdollista. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u00e4vin siis Porissa kansallispuvun tykkimyssyn koppa-kurssilla. Tykkimyssy on siis sellainen kansallispuvun kanssa k\u00e4ytett\u00e4v\u00e4 kova, silkill\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4llystetty hattu jonka kanssa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n koristeellista pitsi\u00e4, eli tykki\u00e4. Haaveissani on valmistaa Lopen kansallispuku, koska se on niin erilainen kuin kaikki muut suomalaiset kansallispuvut. Joten miksip\u00e4s ei aloittaa se tykkimyssyst\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kurssilla valmistettiin todellakin pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n myssyn koppa. Siihen tarvitaan useita kerroksia sanomalehte\u00e4 ja ruispuuroa jolla kerrokset liimataan yhteen. Lis\u00e4ksi kopan vuoriksi tulee puuvilla- tai pellavakangasta. Koppia on erilaisia ja kullekin koppamallille tarvitaan oma hattutukki jonka p\u00e4\u00e4lle koppa kuivataan jotta se asettuu oikeaan muotoonsa. Paperikopan p\u00e4\u00e4lle tulee pehme\u00e4 villavatiini jonka p\u00e4\u00e4lle tulee lopulta kirjottu tai kirjailematon silkki. Jos ehdin kes\u00e4n aikana kirjailla silkkikankaan, syksyll\u00e4 saatan osallistua saman ohjaajan tykkimyssyn p\u00e4\u00e4llystys-kurssille. Silkki ja kirjailulangat ovat jo postissa. <\/p>\n\n\n

Well then… this might have not been the smartest decicions of my life,but I started making new national costume. And yeah, my previous national costume project is not even ready yet. But because there is hope that I am getting that finished for this Summer, I just had to start a new one. I actually noticed workshop which goes with this new costume, so I had to join in. You never know when these more specialised workshops are going to happen next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I went to Pori to join in national costume hat-making workshop. Lace cap is specific type of hard, silk covered cap, which is worn with decorative lace. I am dreaming of making Loppi region national costume, because it is so different to any other finnish national costumer. So why not start with the cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop was about making only the hard cap. For it, you need several layers of newspaper and rye porridge, which is used as a glue. For lining you need linen or cotton fabric. There are different types of caps, and each of them requires their own hat block. Cap is dried ontop of the block, so it keeps specific shape. Ontop of the hard paper cap, wool wadding is sewn and ontop of that embroidered or plain silk satin. If I have time embroider the silk during the summer, I probably will join the cap covering workshop, by same teacher, in the Autumn. Silk and the embroidery yarns are already in the post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
