Halusin valmistaa yksinkertaisen tyylikk\u00e4it\u00e4 kuusenkoristeita joulumyyj\u00e4isiin. Olen tehnyt monenlaisia k\u00e4sit\u00f6it\u00e4, mutta puusta en oikeastaan ole tehnyt ominp\u00e4in mit\u00e4\u00e4n. Pitk\u00e4\u00e4n olen halunnut kokeilla puun kuviointia polttamalla ja bongasinkin jostain netist\u00e4 uudenlaiset tussit joilla piirt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja sitten piirrosta kuumentamalla puuhun syntyy poltettu kuviointi. Is\u00e4nt\u00e4 yst\u00e4v\u00e4llisesti sellaiset tussit minulle tilasikin, mutta testik\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 osoittautui ett\u00e4 tulimme huijatuksi. N\u00e4m\u00e4 tussit ovat ihan tuikitavalliset oranssit tussit, mit\u00e4\u00e4n polttoefekti\u00e4 n\u00e4ill\u00e4 ei syntym\u00e4\u00e4n saanut. Kokeilimme eri metodeja hiustenkuivaajasta sytk\u00e4riin, tulitikkuun ja kuumailmapuhaltimeen. Nada. Mit\u00e4\u00e4n perinteist\u00e4h\u00e4n n\u00e4iss\u00e4 ei joulukoristeena varsinaisesti taida olla, vaikka tekniikka onkin melko perinteinen kansantaiteessa k\u00e4ytetty kuviointimenetelm\u00e4. 70-80-luvuilla ainakin sai usein matkamuistoina ostaa puisia pieni\u00e4 esineit\u00e4 jotka oli kuvioitu polttamalla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to make simple but stylish Christmas tree decorations for local Christmas fair. I have done lot of different handycrafts, but never anything from wood, not on my on anyways. For a while I have wanted to try wood burning and I saw some new woodburning markers online. You can scorch wood just by drawing with the marken and then heating it up with lighter or heat gun. Hubby ordered me some of those pens, but when we tested them, we realized we got conned. These markers were just plain old ordinary orange markers. We were not able to get any kind of scorched effect. We tried different methods from blowdryer to matches, lighters and heat gun. Nada. So if you want to try these markers, make sure to check the authenticity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, I was left to settle for the traditional methods. These days you can get all sorts of tools made for wood burning, but I used the ordinary soldering iron, which I have bought for handcrafting. First I tested it on woodd and when I got familiar with it, the pattern pretty much designed itself. These snow flakes turned out more fabulous than I even dreamed of. They are not really anything traditional, even though the wood burning is traditional method for drawing on wood. Atleast in the 70’s and 80’s wooden souvenir with burned designs were a lot in fashion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traditionally I have posted some Christmas decor tutorials on the blog around the season. This time however my readers got it easy. You don’t have to make anything yourself, just leave a commend on this post.
