Tein uhkarohkean tempauksen ja k\u00e4vin Tampereella ostoksilla. En ole kierrellyt ostoskeskuksissa moneen vuoteen. Tuntui aika hassulta. Eksyin. Ratinan uudehko ostoskeskus tuntuu liian isolta monen vuoden maalla asumisen j\u00e4lkeen. Ja etenkin kun ei ole k\u00e4ynyt juuri miss\u00e4\u00e4n koronan saavuttua. Ihmisi\u00e4 oli liikaa ja ne olivat liian \u00e4\u00e4nekk\u00e4it\u00e4. Toisaalta oli hauska kierrell\u00e4 ja katsella putiikkeja ja ihmisi\u00e4. Ostoksiakin tein, vaikka en nykyisin oikeastaan harrasta en\u00e4\u00e4 shoppailua. Muistatteko 80-luvulta Dymo-nimikointilaitteet? Sellaiset mustalle paksulle teipille kohokirjaimia kirjoittavat vimpaimet. Modernisoidut Dymot tulostavat jo erilaisia fontteja sile\u00e4lle tarralle ja vastaavia tarratulostimia l\u00f6ytyy jo monelta valmistajalta. Olen etsinyt jonkin aikaa edullista nimikointilaitetta. Ensin ajattelin ostavani modernin tarratulostimen, mutta t\u00e4m\u00e4 nostalginen Dymo-kohokirjoitin vei lopulta voiton. Luulen ett\u00e4 n\u00e4m\u00e4 ovat taas muodissa sill\u00e4 bongasin n\u00e4it\u00e4 useammasta kaupasta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vaikka 70-80-luvun estetiikka ei varsinaisesti ole lemppariani, n\u00e4m\u00e4 nimitarrat toimivat moneen paikkaan. T\u00e4st\u00e4 viel\u00e4 parempi ratkaisu olisivat liimapaperille mustekyn\u00e4ll\u00e4 kirjoitetut etiketit, mutta ne nuhraantuvat helposti, eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 kest\u00e4 kastumista. Etenkin pest\u00e4viss\u00e4 yrttipurkeissa n\u00e4m\u00e4 ovatkin kest\u00e4v\u00e4mpi\u00e4, helppolukuisia ja kivasti yhten\u00e4isi\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vanhan teknologian mukana saa toki my\u00f6s vanhan teknologian huonot puolet. Tarran katkaisun j\u00e4lkeen tarran p\u00e4\u00e4 j\u00e4\u00e4 helposti kiinni kirjainkiekkoon ja taittuu. Lis\u00e4ksi t\u00e4ytyy olla tarkkana ett\u00e4 sana tulee kirjoitettua oikein. <\/p>\n\n\n

I made courageous move and when to shopping in Tampere (largest city near us). I haven’t been shopping in big shopping centers for several years. It felt funny. I got lost. Ratina is relatively new shopping center and it felt too big, after living so many years in the country side. And especially when staying pretty much home for couple of years. There were too many people and they were too loud. On the other hand it was fun to walk around and watch people and browse shops. I made some shopping too, even though I don’t really do “shopping” anymore. When living in countryside, you can’t go to big shops all the time. For that reason when you actually go shopping, you have shopping list and buy just what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you remember Dymo label machines from the 80’s? Those funny plastic devices which wrote embossed letters on black thick stickers. My friends home had one and sometimes I was allowed to use it to make labels for my notebooks and diaries. Modern day Dymo’s print several different fonts to smooth stickers and many manufacturers have their own. I have been looking for affordable label printer for awhile. First I thought I should buy modern one, but this nostalgic Dymo emboss label machine won. I think these are back in fashion, because I saw these in several different shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though 70’s and 80’s aesthetic isn’t really my thing, these labels work nicely for several different uses. Even better solution would be handwritten labels for sticky paper, however they get dirty easily and can’t handle washing. Especially on herb jars, these Dymo labels are much durable, easy to read and they match eachother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, with old technology you also get old technology flaws. After cutting the label, the new end of next label gets easily caught on the letters and bends. You also have to be carefull when spelling the words, so that you don’t make mistakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labels work well for notebuuks too, except if the cover is very coarse, It’s possible that labels will peel of from them grey notebook, it doesn’t have very smooth covers.<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
