Olen ollut melko saamaton sisustushommien kanssa. Kaikki on v\u00e4h\u00e4n mullin mallin ja tavara ajelehtii huoneesta toiseen, kasasta toiseen, tasolta toiselle. T\u00e4n\u00e4\u00e4n kuitenkin is\u00e4nn\u00e4n kanssa rep\u00e4istiin ja laitettiin olkkarin verhot kuntoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuten edellispostauksessa jo mainitsinkin, t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 on 70-luvulla vaihdettu koko taloon matalat, leve\u00e4t ikkunat jotka tekev\u00e4t kaikista alakerran huoneista kovin h\u00e4m\u00e4r\u00e4t. Verhot ja l\u00e4hes ikkunan yl\u00e4karmissa kiinni olevat verhotangot ei t\u00e4h\u00e4n asiaan ainakaan auta yht\u00e4\u00e4n. Muuton yhteydess\u00e4 minulla ei ollut olkkariin nelj\u00e4\u00e4 samanlaista verhoa joten napsin ikkunoihin vain nopsasti “jotain”. Toiseen laitoin harmaat pimennysverhot ja toiseen vaaleanpunaiset jaquard-verhot. Nyt vuoden niit\u00e4 katseltuani ne alkoivat \u00e4rsytt\u00e4\u00e4 aika paljon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salin v\u00e4rimaailmaksi olen suunnitellut vihre\u00e4n s\u00e4vyj\u00e4 ja olisin halunnut tummanvihre\u00e4t samettiverhot tai villaverhot. En kuitenkaan l\u00f6yt\u00e4nyt mieleisi\u00e4ni joten piti keksi\u00e4 \u00e4kki\u00e4 jotakin muuta. Muistin ett\u00e4 minulla on jemmassa 6 kappaletta kuviollisia puuvillaverhoja joista olin ajatellut ommella jotain historiallista asua. Kaksi verhoista oli valitettavasti reik\u00e4isi\u00e4 jo ostohetkell\u00e4, mutta nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 verhosta sain kuin sainkin olohuoneeseen riitt\u00e4v\u00e4n m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n sivuverhoja pienell\u00e4 ompeluvaivalla. P\u00e4\u00e4rm\u00e4sin l\u00f6rp\u00f6tt\u00e4v\u00e4t hulpiot ja pidensin yhden liian lyhyen jotta kaikki olisivat yht\u00e4 pitki\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sain aiemmin kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 kaverin \u00e4idilt\u00e4 muuton vuoksi ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4iseksi j\u00e4\u00e4neit\u00e4 messinkisi\u00e4 vintagetankoja. Niist\u00e4 valittiin kaksi olohuoneeseen ja ne ripustettiin paljon ylemm\u00e4s, ikkunoiden mataluutta tasapainottamaan. Valitettavasti tangoista uupuivat l\u00e4hes kaikki kannakkeet ja tangonp\u00e4\u00e4t. Ripustusrenkaitakin oli vain kourallinen. Huoneessa aiemmin olleista puisista tangoista nyysin puun v\u00e4riset renkaat ja maalasin ne ruskeaksi. Nopsasti katsottuna ne maastoutuvat patinoituneeseen messinkiin todella hienosti eik\u00e4 \u00e4kki\u00e4 katsoen edes huomaa ett\u00e4 vain yhdess\u00e4 verhossa on messinkiset renkaat. Yhden ikkunan verhoille asennettiin messinginv\u00e4riset koukeroiset pidikkeet jotka l\u00f6ysin aiemmin kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 paikalliselta rompetorilta parilla eurolla. Valitettavasti niit\u00e4 on vain kaksi joten toiseen ikkunaan pit\u00e4\u00e4 keksi\u00e4 jotakin muuta. <\/p>\n\n\n

I haven’t really been into interior decoration recently. Everything is a bit topsy turvy and things keep drifting from one room to another, one pile to another and surface to surface. Today me and hubby however tackled the task of living room curtains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like I mentioned in the previous post, all windows have been changed in the 70’s to low and wide modern ones. They make all ground floor rooms very dark. Curtains and low hanging curtain poles are not helping at all. When we moved I didn’t have four identical curtains so I just quickly hung “something”. One window got gray sunblock curtains and the other pink vintage jaquard-curtains. Now after one year I am quite annoyed by them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My plans for the colour scheme in the living room is shades of green and I wanted dark green velvet or wool curtains. However I was not able to find the kind I liked, so I had to quickly go for plan B. I remembered that I actually had 6 identical print curtains which I bought for historical outfit. Two of them had holes when I bought them, but four were good enough to use for curtains with only little bit of sewing. I trimmed the fabric salvages and added more length to one, which was too short. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this summer I got some vintage brass curtain poles from my friends mum. They were moving and didn’t need them anymore. We chose two of them and hung them much higher than before, to balance the low profile of the windows. Unfortunately almost all wall fixtures and pole ends were missing. There was also only handfull of metal rings. So I got wooden rings from the wooden poles, which were previously in the room, and painted them brown. By quick glance they look like metal rings and look pretty good with brass patina. From a distance you don’t even realize that only one curtain has brass rings. One window also got brass curtain holders, which I bought for two euros from local carboot sales. Unfortunately there was only two, so another window has to have something else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e4m\u00e4 on olkkarin esteettisempi ikkuna, eik\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n niin j\u00e4rin n\u00e4tti ole. Toinen ikkunan edusta on kaaoksen vallassa. Aion my\u00f6hemmin vaihtaa t\u00e4h\u00e4n toisenlaiset valoverhot kunhan l\u00f6yd\u00e4n riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti sopivaa kangasta josta riitt\u00e4\u00e4 molempiin ikkunoihin. \/
This is the most aesthetic of the two livingroom windows, and even this is not very pretty. The other one is in chaos. I am later going to replace these lace curtains, as long as I find enough of fabric that I like. Enough for both windows. <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
