Talon mukana saimme tuollaisen hienon jalkalampun. En ole ihan varman, mutta luulen ett\u00e4 se on mahdollisesti 30- tai 40-luvulta. Harmittavasti alkuper\u00e4inen varjostin oli poistettu ja siihen oli silikoonilla ymp\u00e4tty kiinni kattolampun lasikupu, joka oli kaiken lis\u00e4ksi viel\u00e4 rikkikin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I asked from hubby if he would be able to repair the lamp. The wooden leg is very decorative with woodcarvings. And so he fixed it. Lead, switch and lamp holder were replaced to new. I happened to have lampshade which matched this lamp. These kind of floor lamps used to have pretty much identical shades. I bought the shade many years ago from flea market. It is little bit broken, but we don’t let that bother us too much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we bought the house, we also got this lovely lamp. I am not sure, but I think it’s possibly from 30’s or 40’s. Unfortunately the original lampshade has been removed and someone has used silicone to glue small glass shade to it. Shade was also broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During all those years in my storage lampshade had collected quite a bit of dirt, and I think it might have already had some stains on it. I washed it with gall soap (my trusted friend) and it freshened up, however the oldest stains did not come off. But I thought what does it matter really if the life shows on it a bit. For now it will do, so that we can finally use the lamp. Perhaps when the planets are in their perfect places in this universe, I will get proper clean lampshade for this lamp, who knows. In the meantime it is really nice to be reading under this charming “Lamp of the house”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the only photo of the lamp in it’s poor state. Somehow I have a feeling that the glass shade might have got broken when the previous owner was moving their stuff out, because I don’t remember seeing broken lamp in the showing. Seller might have abandoned it because of that. I didn’t mention this lamp to the seller when we bought other furniture from them. <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
