Tervetuloa perinteisen Evil Dressmakerin joulukalenterin pariin! Toivottavasti t\u00e4st\u00e4 tulee yht\u00e4 hauskaa kuin aina ennenkin. V\u00e4lill\u00e4 on koettu teknisi\u00e4 ongelmia ja inspiraatio-ongelmia, mutta kaikista on selvitty melko hyvin. T\u00e4m\u00e4 on blogi-joulukalenterin kymmenes vuosi. Hurraahuuto kymmenvuotiaalle joulukalenterille siis: Hurraa! Ihan huikeeta ett\u00e4 meill\u00e4 on t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 blogissa jo n\u00e4in pitk\u00e4-ik\u00e4isi\u00e4 perinteit\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pitemmitt\u00e4 puheitta joulukalenterin ensimm\u00e4inen luukku paljastaa ett\u00e4 meill\u00e4 on uusia perheenj\u00e4seni\u00e4. Ei yksi, eik\u00e4 kaksi, vaan kolme uutta vilkasta kissakaveria. Tervetuloa kotiin Lux, Rico ja Yoda! N\u00e4m\u00e4 kisusisarukset on adoptoitu Pirkanmaan El\u00e4isuojeluyhdistykselt\u00e4. Kukaan tuskin on v\u00e4lttynyt kuulemasta ett\u00e4 Suomessa on kissakriisi. Yli 20 000 kissaa hyl\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n vuosittain. Se on hirve\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 kodittomia kissoja, joita kukaan ei halua. Kun rakas Taku-kissamme muutti autuaammille mets\u00e4stysmaille muutama kuukausi sitten, p\u00e4\u00e4timme antaa kodin useammalle kissalle, jotka ovat etsineet loppuel\u00e4m\u00e4n kotia pidemm\u00e4n aikaa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parisen viikkoa sitten kissat vihdoin saapuivat. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 viel\u00e4 opetellaan yhteiseloa ja tutustutaan puolin ja toisin, mutta eik\u00f6h\u00e4n meist\u00e4 ihan kavereita tule. Toivotaan tietysti ett\u00e4 Nyx tulee juttuun tulokkaiden kanssa ja p\u00e4in vastoin. El\u00e4insuojeluyhdistykselt\u00e4 adoptoitavat kissat eiv\u00e4t voi ulkoilla vapaasti, mutta toivoa on ett\u00e4 ainakin joku t\u00e4st\u00e4 kolmikosta sopii valjasulkoiluun. Meill\u00e4 on my\u00f6s ajatuksena rakentaa ensi kev\u00e4\u00e4n\u00e4 catio talon toisen sis\u00e4\u00e4nk\u00e4ynnin yhteyteen. Siell\u00e4 kaikkien kissojen olisi turvallista ja mukavaa ulkoilla yhdess\u00e4. Asummehan kuitenkin harvaan asutulla alueella jossa liikkuu kaikenlaisia el\u00e4imi\u00e4 kuten n\u00e4\u00e4ti\u00e4, kettuja ja jopa ilveksi\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome to the tradition Evil Dressmaker blog Christmas calendar! Hopefully this will be as fun as it has been before. There’s been some technical problems and inspirational problems, but we have managed to conquer those quite well. This is the 10th anniversary. Hurrah for the ten-year-old blog Christmas calendar! Isn’t it awesome that we have this kind of long traditions in here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without further ado, let’s open the first door to the Christmas Calendar: new family members! Not just one, nor two, but three new kitty friends. Welcome home Lux, Rico and Yoda! These kittens are siblings and have been adopted from local animal shelter association called PESU ry. It has been widely reported in the news during past couple years that in Finland we have cat crisis. Over 20 000 cats are abandoned every single year. That is awfull amount of homeless cats that no-one wants. So after our beloved Taku cat died couple months ago, we wanted to give home for several cats which have trouble finding permanent home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cats arrived couple weeks ago. We are still learning to live together and getting to know each other, but I’m pretty sure we will be good friends after awhile. Let’s hope that Nyx also befriends all three of them and vice versa. Cats who are adopted from animal shelters are not allowed to go out freely. There is however hope that some of these three might get comfortable wearing harnesses. We are also planning on building proper catio around the side door. That would be comfortable and safe place for all of our cats to go outside. After all, we live in rural area where all sort of animals roam, like stoats, foxes and perhaps even lynx. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
