En olekaan aikoihin postannut (miksi aloitan l\u00e4hes kaikki postaukset noilla sanoilla?)<\/span><\/strong> kissap\u00e4ivityst\u00e4 blogiin. Marraskuun alussa tuli tasan vuosi siit\u00e4 kun Nyx Amanda muutti meille. Nyx on kotiutunut oikein hyvin. Kovin h\u00e4n on viel\u00e4 arka eik\u00e4 anna edelleenk\u00e4\u00e4n meid\u00e4n koskea, mutta muuten kyll\u00e4 tuntuu p\u00e4rj\u00e4ilev\u00e4n oikein mukavasti. Lempparipaikka on edelleenkin raapimispuun ylimm\u00e4inen riippumatto, mutta usein h\u00e4net tapaa my\u00f6s alemmassa riippumatossa torkkumassa tai p\u00f6tk\u00f6tt\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 jollakin muulla tasolla. Mieluusti h\u00e4n tulisi my\u00f6skin muihin huoneisiin oleilemaan, mutta valitettavasti Taku, talouden vanhempi kissa terrorisoi Nyxi\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ollaan testattu hidas tutustuttaminen, Feliway-feromonit, lahjonta ynn\u00e4 muut kommervenkit. Taku vain ei sitten mill\u00e4\u00e4n tunnu hyv\u00e4ksyv\u00e4n Nyxi\u00e4 reviirilleen. Nyx yritt\u00e4\u00e4 tehd\u00e4 tuttavuutta, juttelee ja koittaa ottaa kontaktia, mutta ne yleens\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4ttyv\u00e4t siihen ett\u00e4 Taku ottaa kynnet avuksi ja ajaa Nyxin muristen omaan huoneeseen. Kerran t\u00e4llainen yhteenotto p\u00e4\u00e4ttyi siihen ett\u00e4 Nyx puolustaessaan itse\u00e4\u00e4n osui kynnell\u00e4 Takun etutassun isoon verisuoneen. Haava ehti vuotaa melko runsaasti pitkin asuntoa ennenkuin sain kissan kiinni ja vuodon tyrehtym\u00e4\u00e4n painamalla sit\u00e4 hetken aikaa umpeen. Selvittiin s\u00e4ik\u00e4hdyksell\u00e4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asiaa hankaloittaa lis\u00e4ksi se ett\u00e4 Takulla kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 todettu munaisten vajaatoiminta ja siit\u00e4 johtuva tiukka ruokavalio est\u00e4v\u00e4t yhteisten ruokailu-aikojen j\u00e4rjest\u00e4misen. Taku on aina ollut vaivalloinen sy\u00f6j\u00e4 joten nyt kun ruokana on pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n dieettiruokaa, sit\u00e4 pit\u00e4\u00e4 olla tarjolla koko ajan jotta saa sit\u00e4 riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti. Nyxill\u00e4 taas on ruoka-ajat, muutoin tuoreruoka kuivuu kuppiin. Mitk\u00e4\u00e4n kissojen yhteiset herkkujen tai lelujen heittelyleikit ei onnistu, koska Nyx pelk\u00e4\u00e4 kaikkea h\u00e4nt\u00e4 kohti heitetty\u00e4, my\u00f6s ruokaa eik\u00e4 tule ihmisi\u00e4 metri\u00e4 l\u00e4hemm\u00e4s. I have not posted for awhile (why do I start almost all posts with those words?)<\/span><\/strong> any cat updates. In the beginning of November it became a year since Nyx Amanda moved to live with us. She is doing pretty well. She is still quite shy and doesn’t let us touch, but otherwise she seems fine. Her favourite place is stille the upper hammock in her scratching pole, but you can see her resting in lower hammock and other levels too. She would love to hang around in other rooms too, but unfortunately Taku, the older cat of ours, is terrorizing Nyx. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have done the slow getting to know eachother process, Feliway feromones and other tricks. Taku just doesn’t seem to accept Nyx on her territory. Nyx tries to make friends, chats to her and tries to make contact, but usually they all end up Taku chasing her back to her room, with claws and growl. One of these ended up Nyx scratching Taku in the big blood vein on her front paw. It was bleeding quite bad all over the place before I managed to catch the cat and stop the bleeding by pressing the wound. Thankfully it wasn’t anything more serious than that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything is even trickier because we found out in Spring that Taku has a kidney failure, and for that reason she is on special diet. She’s always been fuzzy eater and now when she only gets diet food, she must have it available always, when ever she feels like eating so that she gets enough food. Nyx has her own feeding times, otherwise the wet food dries up in her bowl. Play or treat times together with both cats are not going to happen. Nyx is afraid of everything that is thrown at her, even food and does not allow people closer than around a meter. I suspect that when she was living wild on a cat population, people might have thrown stones at her. We are getting a bit desperate here. If anyone has any good ideas how to get Taku accepting Nyx, all tips are hugely welcome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
