Ja hiphei, koska uuden ty\u00f6n my\u00f6t\u00e4 saan taas t\u00f6iss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 itse valitsemiani vaatteita, on toiveita ett\u00e4 blogissa saatetaan tulevaisuudessa n\u00e4hd\u00e4 taas enemm\u00e4n asukuvia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vaikka ensikatsomalla ei ehk\u00e4 hoksaa, 20-luvun tyyleiss\u00e4 on melko paljon eroa. Tyypillisesti 20-luvun muodista puhuttaessa mainitaan lantiolle pudonnut vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6linja. 20-luvun alussa se oli viel\u00e4 kuitenkin ihan oikealla paikallaan ja alkoi pudota alasp\u00e4in vasta siin\u00e4 1922-23 tiet\u00e4mill\u00e4, palatakseen taas yl\u00f6s luonnolliselle vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6lle 30-luvulle tultaessa. Erikoisin 20-luvun muotivillitys oli robe de style, jossa helman alle laitettiin pienet 1700-luvun tyyliset panier-korivanteet nostamaan helmaa sivuilta. 1700-luvun sivukoreista poiketen ne roikkuivat vy\u00f6t\u00e4r\u00f6n sijaan lantiolla. Vaikutelmaa usein korostettiin rypytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 helma sivuilta muhkeaksi. Arkikelpoinen versio robe de stylest\u00e4 on ilman korivanteinta, pelk\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n sivuilta rypytetyll\u00e4 helmalla. I have some new plans for my wardrobe for this and coming years of this new 20’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1920’s has always been my favourite era when it comes to style. I can’t really explain why, there’s just something about the aesthetics. First thing of 1920’s what people think about are probably the fringe dresses. They weren’t really a thing back then, nor the shiny sequin or beaded dreams. If you could afford the, they were mainly for big parties. Everyday garments were totally different thing, and rarely talked about. Everyday garments are not interesting, or are they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n My goal is to make 1920’s daywear more known to people. It is practical, easy to make and most of all, comfotable to wear. 20’s daywear are loose on the fit and comes with handy large pockest. One of my favourite dresses, blue 50’s dress looks very much like early 20’s daydress. It is my safety garment which I wear when life gives me lemons or when I need to feel comfy. I have worn it so much it’s starting to look a bit tired. So I have to start planning new favourite 20’s style dress. I have vintage red cotton plaid, which I have been saving for this particular use. Plaid homedresses were fashionable in the beginning of the decade, and for example both dresses in the top left corner<\/a> would be perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I would love to make more 20’s garments too. I haven’t yet lost my hope of fitting into my old clothes one day, but while waiting, I still have to wear something. So why not make a whole 1920’s wardrobe. And yay, due to my job change, I am able to choose my own work clothes again, so there is hope that perhaps there will be more outfit photos again in the blog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Even though on first glance it’s not obvious, there is many different styles in the 20’s. Most typical feature is the dropped waistline, but that didn’t really happen untill around 1922-23. In the beginning of the decade, waist was at the natural place. And it’ returned there again in the 1930’s. Most unusual style of 1920’s must have been so called robe de style. It imitated the fancifull 1700’s side paniers. In the 1700’s paniers were lifting the skirt near the waist, but in robe de style,they were dropped low to the hips, and of course much more modest in size. Effect was emphasized by gathering the skirt around the paniers. Style was adobted for daywear without the paniers. Victoria & Albert Museum collection has this one Paul Poiret daydress<\/a> from 1924, which has generous gatherings on the hem. I have been planning on making my verson of this dress.
