I bought this handbag for travelling from local charity shop. I went to look for small backbag. I didn’t find one, but I found this Finnish-made genuine leather, almost unused handbag with shoulder strap instead. Super nice find!<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa ostin samalta italialaiselta myyj\u00e4lt\u00e4 Kate Mulgrewn signeeratun fanikuvan. Kumpaisellekin pit\u00e4\u00e4 etsi\u00e4 sopiva paikka sein\u00e4lt\u00e4. Siin\u00e4p\u00e4 ne t\u00e4m\u00e4n kertaiset ostokset, varsin maltiliset. Paitsi lis\u00e4ksi tietysti muutama pieni kiitos-lahja kissavahdillemme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nI promised to show you what shopping I did at Worldcon. Well, actually what shopping I did in Dublin, these are not all from the event. On the day of arrival we stopped at local comic book shop. I found couple interesting Dr Who books that I had to get. I would have wanted to also check proper book shop, but we could only find small with regular novels and paper goods. So I didn’t get to fill my clothing history and vintage library this time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the second travel day I had to buy new shoes, like I mentioned before. They are quite different to my usual style, quite modern in design and colour is gunmetal. They felt very soft in the shop. And that they are, but when brand new and walking a lot, they did manage to bring me blisters. On our way back to the hostel we made quick stop at the second hand book shop. I found book about Wallis Simpson with very affordable price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the actual event I was able to find authentic Harry Potter wand, which I have been looking for some time now. That caused a bit of a hassle at the airport. I had packed it on the hand luggage just in case, but I didn’t realize it will show up on the scanner. Security person asked me if that’s a Harry Potter wand. I didn’t hear nor understand what they were saying and was trying to get through the crowd closer, so I could understand what’s going on. But by that time the security person was already opening my bag and the wand box. When they took the wand out they said well that’s a Harry Potter wand, to which I stupidly repeated, yes it’s a Potter wand. Hubby hurried to explain that I did not understand the question. If I would have heard and understood what is being asked, or would have been clever enough to take it out of the bag, we could have avoided all this commotion. On the lay-by I atleast realized to take it out of the bag. So warning to all you Potterists, some authentic wands contain metal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On our first con day I went to listen the medieval textile talk by Katrin Kania and Jeannette Ng. Later I noticed Katrin’s stall at the sellers hall. She had all sorts of medieval handcraft stuff there for sale. I decided to buy two pieces of vellum (fine parchment). I don’t know what I’m going to do with that yet, but I’m assuming I can figure something out. On medieval times they used vellum instead of paper. Oh yeah, and I bought also some Finnish “weird”-literature from Osuuskumma publishers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two years ago from Helsinki Worldcon, I got Virginia Hey’s autographed picture to hubby, as a gift. This time I got Kate Mulgrews autographed picture from the same Italian seller. Now we need to find place on the wall for both. And those are all of my humble little shoppings from this trip. Olisin viel\u00e4 halunnut katsastaa ihan kunnon kirjakaupan valikoiman, mutta matkan varrelle osui ihan vaan pieni peruskirjakauppa jossa oli enimm\u00e4kseen perus-romskuja ja paperitavaraa. Clarks is one of my favourite shoe brands because they got many vintage style shoes too. This time I ended up getting these ones which are outside my comfort zone, completely due to practical reasons.
