Vinkkasin aiemmin kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 Sastamalan vanhat talot-tapahtumasta. En ollut aivan varma ehtisimmek\u00f6 itse osallistua mutta ehdimme sittenkin. Mik\u00e4s sen hauskempaa kuin p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 tirkistelem\u00e4\u00e4n ihmisten koteihin ihan luvan kanssa. T\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa emme sitten kuitenkaan juurikaan yksityiskoteihin p\u00e4\u00e4tyneet, mutta olivat n\u00e4m\u00e4 muutkin kiinnostavia. Tapahtumaan oli ilmoittautunut mukaan yli 50 taloa. Sellaisen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n l\u00e4pi kiert\u00e4minen yhden p\u00e4iv\u00e4n aikana oli sula mahdottomuus joten valitsimme muutamia kauppareisun varrelle osuvia. Mahtavaa ett\u00e4 tapahtuma j\u00e4rjestet\u00e4\u00e4n my\u00f6s ensi vuonna. Olisimme alla luettelemieni paikkojen lis\u00e4ksi halunneet poiketa my\u00f6s Tuomiston kartanossa, mutta jono oli niin valtava ett\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4timme suosiolla jatkaa matkaa. Kuulin my\u00f6hemmin ett\u00e4 kartano oli ilmeisesti ollut tapahtuman suosituin kohde. Ehk\u00e4p\u00e4 ensi vuonna sitten aloitamme sielt\u00e4. Earlier this Summer I tipped you about the event called Old Houses of Sastamala. I wasn’t sure if we were able join, but we did. Isn’t fun to be able to peek into peoples homes! This time we didn’t really end up in many privat homes, but these other places were very interesting to visit too. There was over 50 houses signed in on the event. It was just impossible to go through all of them in one day, so we picked couple along our way to the shop. It’s awesome that they are organizing this next year too. We also wanted to stop by at Tuomiston kartano (Tuomisto mansion)<\/strong><\/span>, but when we saw the queue we decided to leave it. Later I heard it was apparently the most popular house in the whole event. Perhaps next year we start right from there. You can check all the locations and houses from their map service<\/a> (doesn’t work perfectly with mobile phone)<\/strong><\/span>. I am also terribly sorry that most Finnish businessies don’t seem to bother with English web pages. They just don’t expect foreign tourists to come here, which is really unfortunate. I have to point out that these photos are not really doing justice to the houses, you have to experience it yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n

\nMouhij\u00e4rven Osuusmeijeri \/ Mouhij\u00e4rvi co-op dairy factory
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/span>Vuonna 1905 valmistui Mouhij\u00e4rven keskustan kupeeseen kivinen meijerirakennus. Pirkanmaalaiset saattavat muistaakin meijerin tuotteet joissa komeilivat isolla kirjaimem M-O-M. Min\u00e4 ainakin muistan. Mouhij\u00e4rven osuusmeijeri hakeutui konkurssiin 1999, mutta rakennuksen historia el\u00e4\u00e4. Nyt muhkeiden kiviseinien sis\u00e4ll\u00e4 toimii Pub Meijeri. Kiinnostava historia ja maassiiviset kivipaadet antaisivat mielest\u00e4ni potentiaalia paljon muuhunkin kuin pubina toimimiseen. \/
\nDairy factory was built right next to the Mouhij\u00e4rvi center in the year 1905. People living in nearby towns probably remember their products, marked with huge letters M-O-M. Atleast I do. Mouhij\u00e4rvi dairy factory applied bankrupt in 1999, but the history lives on. Inside the sturdy stone walls now resides the Pub Meijeri (Dairy Factory in english). In my opinion this interesting history and massive stones would give potential for much more. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

\nKahvila Signe \/ Cafe Signe
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/span>Keskelt\u00e4 Mouhij\u00e4rven kyl\u00e4\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyy ulkoa ehk\u00e4 vaatimaton talo, mutta sis\u00e4lt\u00e4 t\u00e4ynn\u00e4 tunnelmaa. Herttainen myyj\u00e4 tiskin takana kertoi meille ett\u00e4 talo on rakennettu joskus 1920-luvulla ja sen ensimm\u00e4inen em\u00e4nt\u00e4 oli nimelt\u00e4\u00e4n Signe. Talon hirret ovat kuitenkin jo 1800-luvulta, per\u00e4isin puretusta pappilasta. Vuodesta 2010 l\u00e4htien talossa on toiminut kahvila ja lounasravintola Signe<\/a>. Persoonallinen sisustus ja sis\u00e4ll\u00e4kin osin n\u00e4kyviin j\u00e4tetyt, pellavariveell\u00e4 tiivistetyt hirsisein\u00e4t luovat vieh\u00e4tt\u00e4v\u00e4n milj\u00f6\u00f6n kahvitauolle. Suosittelen! \/
\nRight in the center of Mouhij\u00e4rvi village you find this house, perhaps modest on the outside but warm character inside. Sweet staff behind the till told us that house was built some time in 1920’s and the first lady of the house was called Signe. The logs however are from late 1800’s, and came from old vicarage that was taken down. Cafe and lunch restaurant Signe<\/a> (page only in Finnish)<\/strong><\/span> has been in there since 2010. Rustic interior and visible log walls inside give charming background for coffee break or lunch. I recommend!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

\n<\/strong><\/span>Keskell\u00e4 pikkiriikkist\u00e4 Karkun kyl\u00e4\u00e4 sijaitsee punamultaisten hirsirakennusten pihapiiri. Harsun<\/a> historia ulottuu 1500-luvulle asti, mutta nykyinen p\u00e4\u00e4rakennus on valmistunut 1902. 1800-1900-lukujen taitteessa kestikievarinakin toimineen tilan nykyiset omistajat kertovat auliisti talon historiasta ja saattaapa is\u00e4nt\u00e4 v\u00e4h\u00e4n laulaa luikauttaakin kun sille p\u00e4\u00e4lle sattuu. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 museokodissa hengellisyys on l\u00e4sn\u00e4 sit\u00e4 etsiville. Is\u00e4nt\u00e4parin tarinoita olisi mielell\u00e4\u00e4n kuunnellut pidemp\u00e4\u00e4nkin, mutta paikka oli eritt\u00e4in suosittu joten poistuimme nopsaan muiden tielt\u00e4. T\u00e4ydellist\u00e4 antiikkisisustusta t\u00e4\u00e4lt\u00e4 on turha etsi\u00e4, tavaraa on paljon ja kaikki v\u00e4h\u00e4n ihanasti rempallaan, el\u00e4misen j\u00e4ljet saavat n\u00e4ky\u00e4. \/
\nTiny village of Karkku holds the treasure inside, yard of red ocher buildings. History of Harsu<\/a> (page only in Finnish)<\/strong><\/span> reaches all the way to the 1500’s, but current main building was made in 1902. It has been working as coaching inn in late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Current owners are happy to tell stories about the history of the farm and master of the house might even sing some. Spirituality is important in this place and those who seek it, will find it here. It would have been interesting to listen to the stories longer, but it was very busy place so we escaped. Don’t seek perfect antique interior here, there are lots of stuff, but everything is charmingly slightly shabby, and it is perfectly fine since people actually live there.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

\nSastamalan Wanha-Pappila \/ Old vicarage of Sastamala
\n<\/em><\/strong><\/span>Noin kahdeksan kilometri\u00e4 Vammalasta H\u00e4ij\u00e4\u00e4seen p\u00e4in sijaitsee melko vaatimaton, keskiaikainen, maalattiainen Pyh\u00e4n Marian kirkko. Kirkko on rakennettu jo 1400-luvun lopulla, eik\u00e4 se ole en\u00e4\u00e4 s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6llisesti k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4. Kes\u00e4isin siell\u00e4 j\u00e4rjestet\u00e4\u00e4n kuitenkin kaste- ja vihkitilaisuuksia, sek\u00e4 vuotuinen Sastamala Gregoriana-tapahtuma. Kirkon vieress\u00e4 sen sijaan on sit\u00e4kin n\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4mpi Sastamalan Wanha-Pappila<\/a>. Uusrenesanssi-tyylinen, 1838 valmistunut pappila on suojeltu kohde ja tarjoaa nyky\u00e4\u00e4n tilausravintola- ja majoituspalveluja. V\u00e4liss\u00e4 se on ehtinyt olla my\u00f6s Nokian kaupungin omistuksessa ja toiminut lasten ja nuorten kes\u00e4siirtolana. Huolellisesti suunniteltu sisustus on upea n\u00e4ytt\u00e4vine tapetteineen ja antiikkihuonekaluineen. N\u00e4kemisen arvoinen, omaan makuuni ehk\u00e4 jopa liiankin t\u00e4ydellinen, kohde. \/
\nAbout eight kilometers from Vammala towards H\u00e4ij\u00e4\u00e4 is located pretty modest, medieval church of Holy Mary. It has rare dirt floor and it was built in late 1400’s. It’s not in regular use anymore, but during Summer season christenings and wedding ceremonies can be held there. They also have annual Sastamala Gregoriana -concert there. Next to the church is the old vicarage<\/a> (page only in Finnish)<\/strong><\/span>, which is much more elaborate building. Vicarage was made in 1838 and it’s new renaissance style. Currently it is in private ownership, offering restaurant and hotel services. Before that it was owned also by the town of Nokia and was used as summer boarding house and camp for kids. Carefully designed interior is fancy with beautiful wallpapers and antique furniture. Definitely place worth seeing, and as that, perhaps little bit too perfect for my taste. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Piikojen huoneet toimivat nyky\u00e4\u00e4n majoitusk\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 ja is\u00e4nn\u00e4n tupaa voi vuokrata vaikkapa kokoustilaksi. P\u00e4\u00e4simme kurkistamaan hotellihuoneisiin ja voimme suositella niit\u00e4 kaikille jotka etsiv\u00e4t kodikasta, ketjuhotelleista poikkeavaa majoitusta. Kovasta kiireest\u00e4 huolimatta henkil\u00f6kunta oli yst\u00e4v\u00e4llist\u00e4 ja avuliasta my\u00f6s meille uteliaille. \nLiekoranta<\/a> started as coaching inn in 1901 and has been continuously in the same use ever since. So almost 120 years. Housemaids rooms are now working as hotel rooms and masters cottage you can rent for meetings or small gatherings. We were able to peek inside the hotel rooms and we can recommend them to all who are looking for cozy, not so much chain-hotel-type place to stay. Despite of very busy day, staff was very friendly and helpfull to us nosy people. Tavern is located right opposite to Vammala train station.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
