Muistatteko viel\u00e4 matkamuistoviirit? Nuo kolmion muotoiset pienet liput joihin oli painettu paikkakuntia tai n\u00e4ht\u00e4vyyksi\u00e4. Niit\u00e4 ei kamalasti ole n\u00e4kynyt sitten 80-luvun. Ainakaan t\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 Suomessa. Nyth\u00e4n on k\u00e4ynyt niin ett\u00e4 olen alkanut ker\u00e4ill\u00e4 sellaisia. Ihan vahingossa tottakai. Ensin niit\u00e4 oli ihan vaan pari ja sitten yht\u00e4kki\u00e4 koko nippu. Uuteen kotiin ne p\u00e4\u00e4siv\u00e4t ihan sein\u00e4lle asti.<\/p>\n

Itse pid\u00e4n eniten noista v\u00e4h\u00e4n vanhemmista versioista, joissa on pehme\u00e4mpi kangas ja murretummat v\u00e4rit, taitavat olla jostakin 50- tai 60-luvuilta. My\u00f6hemmin kangas muuttui kovemmaksi ja v\u00e4reist\u00e4 tuli kirkkaampia ja\u00a0mukaan tuli neonv\u00e4rej\u00e4 jotka eiv\u00e4t itse\u00e4ni niin hirve\u00e4sti s\u00e4v\u00e4yt\u00e4. Noita vanhempia viirej\u00e4 on hankalampi l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 joten my\u00f6s uudempia on tarttunut mukaan matkan varrelta. Kirppiksill\u00e4 n\u00e4ihin t\u00f6rm\u00e4\u00e4 toisinaan ja hinnat vaihtelevat suuresti. Halvimmillaan olen ostanut n\u00e4it\u00e4 50 sentin hintaan. Kalleimmat n\u00e4kem\u00e4ni ovat olleet kympin paremmalla puolen. Itse olen tosin enimmill\u00e4\u00e4n maksanut muutaman euron kappaleelta.<\/p>\n

Do you remember souvenir buntings? Or did your country even ever had them? They are triangular little fabric flags, printed with locations or sightseeing places. Usually you was able to buy them from souvenir shops. They were very popular here in Finland during 50’s-80’s and you could get one for pretty much every town and village even. But for some reason they pretty much vanished around 80’s. So, it looks like I have started to collect them. By coincidence of course. First I had just couple and then all of a sudden there was a whole pile. Now I finally managed to get them on the wall.<\/p>\n

I like the most those older ones, with more muted colours and softer fabric. I think they are from 50’s or 60’s. Later the fabric turned harder and colours stronger. They even started putting neon colours on them, which I’m not such a big fan of. It’s trickier to find older ones, so I have also bought some newer ones. They sell these sometimes in thrift shops and flea markets. Prices vary a lot. Cheapest I’ve seen have been about 50 cents and most expensive have been over 10 \u20ac each. I have payed about couple euros at most.<\/p>\n
