H\u00e4n myi sen hyvin edullisesti koska koristelut olivat v\u00e4h\u00e4n ottaneet itseens\u00e4 vuosien saatossa. Kirppistavaran ollessa kyseess\u00e4 en en\u00e4\u00e4 miellell\u00e4ni osta mit\u00e4\u00e4n, joka vaatii korjausta ennenkuin p\u00e4\u00e4see k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n, mutta vintagen suhteen voin tehd\u00e4 poikkeuksia. Ent\u00e4s koristelu sitten? Helma, hihansuut ja kaulus on koristeltu n\u00e4ytt\u00e4vin nauhapoimutelmin. Koristelun pohjana oleva puuvillatylli ja puuvillainen ompelulanka ovat aikaa my\u00f6den haurastuneet ja antaneet periksi ja siksi koristelu v\u00e4h\u00e4n lerpattaa sielt\u00e4 t\u00e4\u00e4lt\u00e4. I bought an old coat from a friend recently. She sold it with very reasonable price because the decorations were quite damaged over the years. When it comes to fleamarket stuff, I don’t really like to buy anymore items that need fixing before use. However I can make exceptions when it comes to vintage. Especially if it’s a true gem. And this coat definitely is one.<\/p>\n

Style suggests it’s from 1920’s or perhaps even very late 1910’s. Asymmetrical closure, stand-up-collar and dropped waistline are clearly 20’s design. What about the decoration? Hem, sleeves and collar are decorated with very fancy ruched ribbon ornament. Cotton tulle as a base and cotton sewing thread have weaken over the years and ripped badly in places, and that’s why ribbon decoration is a bit droopy at places. So it needs a bit TLC, but as soon as that’s done, it will be quite adorable and warm Winter coat. Lining is, in quite unusual way, thick and warm wool. I am hoping I have time to fix this for Christmas.<\/p>\n
