After long break I made bound button holes for one custom order coat. While doing that I had some time to take photos and now you finally get proper sewing tutorial to get inspired. Bound button holes are actually quite simple to make, but they are quite scary for many because require cutting a hole in the middle of the fabric. However if you measure carefully and make couple practice buttonholes before the actual garment, they should turn out fine even for those who don’t have much sewing experience.<\/p>\n

\non top of the marked button hole, so that folded edges are outwards and cut<\/strong><\/span><\/em>
\nedges meet in the the middle mark of the button hole. Stitch along the existing
\nstitch from one mark to another.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\nGlue of the interlining is outwards of the main material.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\ncreating rectangular. Seam only goes through interlining and facing.
\nThese rectangulars can be slightly larger than button holes,
\nbut absolutely not smaller.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\n20. Fold facing again in place, match the holes and handstitch around every<\/strong><\/span><\/em>
\nhole so that it is attached to the reverse side of button hole. Remove whip stitches.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
