Uskokaa tai \u00e4lk\u00e4\u00e4, mutta ihmiseksi joka on monta vuotta harrastanut balettia en ole n\u00e4hnyt yht\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n balettia liven\u00e4. Ennen marraskuuta 2016. Kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 Riikassa k\u00e4vimme \u00e4idin kanssa balettin\u00e4yt\u00f6ksess\u00e4, mutta siell\u00e4 esitettiin vain soolovariaatioita tai pas de deux-koreografioita, ei kokonaisia baletteja. Is\u00e4nt\u00e4 ei ole ihan hirve\u00e4sti innostunut baletti-jutuista, eik\u00e4 yksin ole kovin hauska menn\u00e4. Nyt onnistuin vihdoin l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n kaverin joka l\u00e4htee mukaan eritt\u00e4in mielell\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/p>\n

Ja mik\u00e4p\u00e4 sitten parempi aloitus baletti-katselmuksille kuin jouluinen koko perheen baletti P\u00e4hkin\u00e4ns\u00e4rkij\u00e4. Koska Tampereella ei ole omaa balettia, t\u00e4llaiset ovat harvinaista herkkua ja yleens\u00e4 vierailevien seurueiden kiertueita kotimaisin vahvistuksin. P\u00e4hkin\u00e4ns\u00e4rkij\u00e4 oli t\u00e4ll\u00e4 kertaa Brnon kansallisbaletin tuotantoa, vahvistettuna paikallisilla nuorilla tanssijoilla. Lavasteet olivat todella l\u00e4hes henke\u00e4salpaavan kauniit ja musiikista nyt ei erikseen kannattane mainitakaan. P\u00e4hkin\u00e4ns\u00e4rkij\u00e4n musiikki<\/a> on kaikille tuttua<\/a> esim mainoksista. Nautin esityksest\u00e4 todella paljon ja tulevaisuudessa varmasti tulee k\u00e4yty\u00e4 baletissa useamminkin. Tosin se saattaa kyll\u00e4 vaatia reisuja Helsinkiin, Kansallisbalettiin. Mutta n\u00e4lk\u00e4 kasvaa sy\u00f6dess\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Muutakin balettiasiaa on marraskuulle osunut. K\u00e4vi nimitt\u00e4in niin ett\u00e4 juuri syyskauden viime metreill\u00e4 k\u00e4rkitossuni p\u00e4\u00e4ttiv\u00e4t irtisanoa ty\u00f6sopimuksensa. Ulkoisesti tossut ovat viel\u00e4 oikein hyv\u00e4kuntoiset, mutta jalassa tuntuvat aika karmeilta. Boksi on vihdoin, l\u00e4hes vuoden k\u00e4yt\u00f6n j\u00e4lkeen (“Nyt jo!” sanoi is\u00e4nt\u00e4. “Oho miten pitk\u00e4\u00e4n!” totesi tossumyyj\u00e4)<\/strong><\/span> pehmennyt sen verran ett\u00e4 antaa periksi leveyssuunnassa ja p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4 jalkater\u00e4n valumaan aivan k\u00e4rkeen asti. Ja sek\u00f6s sattuu isovarpaaseen. T\u00e4t\u00e4 ehk\u00e4ist\u00e4kseni ja saadakseni kuolevaa joutsenta imitoivista (haa, huomasitteko mit\u00e4 tein, pieni balettivitsi)<\/strong><\/span> tossuistani kaiken irti ostin setin varpaiden erottimia. Ne ovat siis tuollaiset silikoniset, eritt\u00e4in pehme\u00e4t varpaiden v\u00e4leihin laitettavat pehmusteet. Niiden avulla olen voinut viel\u00e4 treenata vanhoillakin tossuilla oikein hyvin. Ja samalla ne auttavat est\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n liikavarpaan muodostumista.<\/p>\n

K\u00e4vin kuitenkin ostamassa uudet tossut. Vaikka olin Grishkon 2007 tossuihin eritt\u00e4in tyytyv\u00e4inen, on alusta saakka niiss\u00e4 ollut yksi ongelma. Nimitt\u00e4in ne ovat niin kovat ett\u00e4 en tahdo p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00e4 niill\u00e4 demi-pointeen (puolivarpaille)<\/strong><\/span>. Sain selvitetty\u00e4, ett\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4 todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isesti johtuu siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 ven\u00e4l\u00e4isiss\u00e4 Grishkon tossuissa kotelo (se osuus jonka sis\u00e4ss\u00e4 p\u00e4ki\u00e4 ja varpaat ovat)<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0on edest\u00e4 niin korkea ja kova ett\u00e4 se voi lyhytvarpaisella haitata liikeratoja. Ik\u00e4v\u00e4 kyll\u00e4 Grishko ei kuulemma valmista tossuja lainkaan matalammalla kotelolla, joten piti keksi\u00e4 jotakin muuta (tosin olen kuullut ett\u00e4 erikoistilauksesta tekev\u00e4t my\u00f6s pieni\u00e4 muutoksia tossuihin)<\/strong><\/span>. Uusiksi tossuiksi sitten valikoitui australialaisen Blochin Suprima, jossa on myyj\u00e4n mukaan l\u00e4hes samanlainen kotelo, mutta matalampi. Myyj\u00e4n mukaan mallin valmistus tosin on lopetettu, eli niiden j\u00e4lkeen pit\u00e4\u00e4 taas etsi\u00e4 uusi malli. Niill\u00e4 ehdin k\u00e4ym\u00e4\u00e4n t\u00e4ll\u00e4 viikolla viel\u00e4 kahdet treenit ennenkuin tunnit meniv\u00e4t joulutauolle. Ihan hirve\u00e4n hyv\u00e4\u00e4 tuntumaa en tossuihin viel\u00e4 ehtinyt saamaan. Pit\u00e4nee viel\u00e4 joulunaikaan kotona kokeilla.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, for a person who has done years of recreational ballet, I have never seen real live ballet. Not untill November 2016. Last Spring in Riga me and my mum went to see international ballet show, but they only performed solo variations or pas de deux dances from various ballets, not a whole ballet. Hubby is not very interested on ballet and it’s not much fun to go alone. But now I finally managed to find a friend who loves ballet.<\/p>\n

And what better ballet to start than family friendly, christmassy Nutcracker. We don’t have our own ballet here in Tampere so all big ballet shows are visiting productions. This time it was from Brno National ballet, with additions from local dance school. Stage set was almost breathtakingly pretty and the music obviously was great. After all, \u00a0music from Nutcracker<\/a> is familiar to us all<\/a>, for example from ads. I enjoyed it a lot and hopefully in the future I can go more often. Although that probably requires trips to Helsinki, to the Nationalballet. Hunger grows while eating, as we say.<\/p>\n

There’s been other ballet issues at hand in November too. Just when the ballet class season is coming to an end, my pointe shoes have decided to come to the end of their term. On the outside they still look almost as good as new, but they feel horrible to wear. Finally, after almost whole year of use (“Already!” said the hubby. “Wow, that’s long!” said the pointe shoe stockist.)<\/strong><\/span> , the box has started to give in and allows my feet to sink in right to the end of the tip. And that really hurts my big toes. To prevent this, and to draw everything out of the shoes imitating the dying swan (ha, see what I did there)<\/strong><\/span>, I bought set of spacers. They are very soft and squishy silicone paddings to put between your toes. With those I have been able to take the pointe class without any trouble. And they also prevent bunions.<\/p>\n

I also bought new pointe shoes. Even though I have been very happy on my Grishko 2007, there’s been one problem with them since the beginning. They are so hard I have trouble going on demi-pointe. I found out that this is probably due to the fact that Russian Grishko has very long and hard vamp (front of the box where ball of foot and toes are in).<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0For short toes like mine, this can restrict movement. As I have been told, unfortunately Grishko doesn’t make pointe shoes with shorter vamp, so I had to think of another solution (although I have also heard they do make small changes on request for individual shoes)<\/strong><\/span>. Finally I chose Australian Bloch Suprima, which according to my pointe shoe stockist, has very similar box to Grishko, only with shorter vamp. Allthough the stockist told me that it’s already discontinued model, so after those I have to look for another model again. I had just enough time to try them on two classes this week before the Christmas break. I didn’t get that good feeling on them yet, but I hopefully have time to try them out at home during the break.<\/p>\n
