Let’s return to the historical stuff for one more post. I have to show you what I bought from Isokyr\u00f6 market. \u00a0One item didn’t made it to the photo because it’s in use on my bobbin pillow. It was missing a break so I ordered one from the carpenter, which he made quickly while I waited.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it’s tricky to find suitable table ware for the living history events. So when I saw some quite nice clay pottery, I decided to buy rather traditional red clay plate for re-enactment purposes. It works for porridge and soup and other meals too. Gentleman who sold it, told me he have been making them over 40 years now. Several other re-enactors have his plates in use.<\/p>\n

One of my best buys from the market were these sheep fur insoles. I got a pair two years ago as a raffle gift and they are the best thing you can ever shove inside your shoes. I had been thinking of getting another pair already. As good as they are, they do wear out eventually, so buying a spare pair seemed like a good idea. I already put them to use, when I had to swap my shoes to wellies. These inside my wellies felt like walking on clouds.<\/p>\n

Little brown wood block on top the insoles is bag closure clip. I needed one for the coffee bag at work. Ordinary clothes pin would work too, but this you can cleverly store on the fridge door because it’s magnetic.<\/p>\n

Pink ribbon is actually velvet. Even though I don’t have a use for it just yet, I always buy vintage sewing supplies when I find them with affordable price. They are tricky to find and they are often much better quality than modern. This velvet ribbon is actually tubing where velvet is on the other side.<\/p>\n

I bought the Executioner novel because lecture by Anneli Kanto was so interesting and I wanted to know more. I got the actual copy she used as a reference on her lecture. She had marked some bits with colourfull tapes. Perhaps I don’t dare to remove the markings at all. There is also her signature inside. Bag of sweeties I had to buy because I got such a good tip from the seller for ginger tea (I love ginger tea)<\/strong><\/span>. Grind a whole bag (or two)<\/strong><\/span> of strong ginger sweeties in a blender into very fine powder and store it in a jar. Make tea by adding one or two teanspoons of powder into a mug of hot water. Usually I make ginger tea from fresh ginger, but unfortunately that doesn’t last very long in fridge, so this might be good replacement option when acute ginger tea graving hits on cold winter day.<\/p>\n
