Olen t\u00e4ss\u00e4 yritt\u00e4nyt mietti\u00e4 helpohkoa uutta cosplay-asua, joka olisi suhteellisen kivuton toteuttaa, eik\u00e4 vaatisi useiden satojen eurojen rahallista panostusta. Ensi kes\u00e4n\u00e4 on nimitt\u00e4in FinnCon<\/a> tulossa taas Tampereelle ja kuoro on suunnitellut osallistumista sinne. Haaveena on Dr Whon Mme Vastra, mutta sen toteuttaminen vaatii sen verran isoa panostusta uusien tekniikoiden opetteluun (latex-lis\u00e4osien valaminen kasvoja varten)<\/strong><\/span>, ett\u00e4 realistisempi tavoite on ehk\u00e4 kuitenkin WorldCon 2017<\/a> kuin ensikes\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Nyt kun T\u00e4htien Sota-leffat on taas tapeetilla\u00a0ja\u00a0niit\u00e4 on tullut katsottua televiisorista niin\u00a0siit\u00e4h\u00e4n se idea sitten l\u00e4hti. Episodi 1:ss\u00e4 prinsessa Amidalalla on yhdess\u00e4 kohtauksessa palvelijattaren tumma viininpunainen samettinen taistelu-asu, joka olisi kohtalaisen helppo ommella eik\u00e4 oikeastaan vaatisi mit\u00e4\u00e4n erityistekniikkaa tai koristelua. Asua varten tarvitsisin samettiset polvihousut, pitk\u00e4hihaisen paidan, pitk\u00e4vartiset saappaat, samettitakin ja jonkinlaisen vy\u00f6n. Uudessakin T\u00e4htien Sota-leffassa oli monta potentiaalista cossaushahmoa, mutta tuo samettitakki kyll\u00e4 vetoaa estetiikantajuuni v\u00e4h\u00e4n liikaa. Onhan hyv\u00e4laatuinen samettikin toki hintavaa, mutta tullee silti halvemmaksi kuin tuo Mme Vastran hahmo, johon pelkk\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4h\u00e4n tuleva lateksihuppu maksaa jo\u00a0satkun.<\/p>\n

Netist\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyy onneksi paljon sivustoja joilla voi tutkia kuvia puvusta, joten mallin hiominen ei tuottane ongelmia. Ainoa osa joka saattaa aiheuttaa enemm\u00e4n kikkailua on tuo vy\u00f6nsolki (pedanttina ihmisen\u00e4 tietysti haluaisin senkin m\u00e4ts\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n originaaliin)<\/strong><\/span>. Ideoita miten sen voisi toteuttaa? Aseen teen ehk\u00e4 jos keksin siihen edullisen tavan toteuttaa sen, mutta asu toimii ilman sit\u00e4kin. Niit\u00e4 saattaa ehk\u00e4 saada valmiinakin jostain.<\/p>\n

I have tried to figure out new easy-ish cosplay outfit, which would be generally painless to make. And did not require loads or money. Next summer the FinnCon<\/a> is coming to Tampere again and our choir has been planning on participating. My dream cosplay would be Mme Vastra from Dr Who, but making that happen requires quite a lot of money and learning new techniques (making latex FX-parts for the\u00a0face)<\/strong><\/span>, so more realistic goal for that might be rather the WorldCon in 2017<\/a> than next summer.<\/p>\n

Now when Star Wars is back on headlights again, I have been watching them from tv. So I got an idea. In Episode 1 Princess Amidala is wearing dark burgundy velvet battle costume. That might be relatively easy to make and doesn’t require much special techniques nor decorations. I would need velvet plus fours, long sleeved t-shirt, long boots, velvet coat and some sort of belt. In the new Star Wars movie they got plentiful of potential cosplay characters, but that velvet coat is tempting me way too much. Proper velvet is going to be expensive, but it’s still going to be much less than Mme Vastra. Just the latex hood for the head is going to be about a hundred.<\/p>\n

Thankfully there are loads of web pages where I can study the outfit, so it should be easy to figure out. Only piece which might cause a bit more problems is the belt buckle. As a very pedantic person I would like that to match too. Any ideas how to make it? I will make the gun if I can figure out how to make it cheap, but it’s not essential. They might be available somewhere ready-made.<\/p>\n
