Blogissa on jo pikaisesti vilahtanutkin t\u00e4m\u00e4 l\u00f6yt\u00f6 jonka tein kes\u00e4ll\u00e4. Samoin kuin moni muu vanha esine, niin t\u00e4ss\u00e4kin on jotain salaper\u00e4ist\u00e4 vieh\u00e4tyst\u00e4. Ehk\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4 menee sinne samaan j\u00e4nn\u00e4-kategoriaan perhoskokoelmien kanssa. Jotain mit\u00e4 on tehty ennen minun aikaani. Omassa lapsuudessani ei en\u00e4\u00e4 koulussa kasvistoja ker\u00e4ilty, mutta ovat kuulemma taas alkaneet sit\u00e4 tehd\u00e4 vuosikymmenien tauon j\u00e4lkeen. Olin jo pidemp\u00e4\u00e4n etsinyt vanhaa herbaariota kirppiksilt\u00e4, mutta t\u00e4m\u00e4 oli ensimm\u00e4inen joka osui kohdalle kohtuulliseen hintaan.<\/p>\n

Kasveja on ker\u00e4tty t\u00e4h\u00e4n kasvistoon vuosina 1960-62. Kasvisto ei ole mitenk\u00e4\u00e4n t\u00e4ydellinen, useita luetteloituja alalajeja on tyhj\u00e4n\u00e4. Saattaa olla ett\u00e4 niit\u00e4 ei ole koskaan ker\u00e4ttyk\u00e4\u00e4n, tai sitten ne ovat kadonneet vuosien saatossa. Kaikkien kasvien v\u00e4rit ovat aika pahasti kellastuneet. Vihreist\u00e4 on tullut ruskean eri s\u00e4vyj\u00e4 ja ter\u00e4lehtien s\u00e4vyt ovat haalistuneet. Ainoa joka on s\u00e4ilytt\u00e4nyt v\u00e4rins\u00e4 paremmin on muistaakseni rantakukka jossa on viel\u00e4 j\u00e4ljell\u00e4 punavioletteja ja lilan s\u00e4vyj\u00e4. Kaikkiin n\u00e4ytteisiin on huolellisesti merkitty\u00a0tiedot l\u00f6yt\u00f6paikasta ja -ajasta sek\u00e4 kasvin nimitiedot. Pahoittelen kuvien kelme\u00e4\u00e4 s\u00e4vy\u00e4, t\u00e4h\u00e4n aikaan vuodesta kaikki kuvat kellastuvat ik\u00e4v\u00e4sti s\u00e4hk\u00f6valossa. There’s been very small glimpse in the blog of this vintage treasure. Like many other old items, there is something mysterious in this. Perhaps it’s the same exciting category with the butterfly collections. Something done before my time. In my childhood kids didn’t collect herbaria in schools anymore. They did that in my parents childhood though, and apparently they have started doing it again, after a decades break. I had been looking for one quite some time now, but this was the first with affordable price tag.<\/p>\n

Plants in this herbarium have been collected between 1960-62. It’s not completed in any way, some catalogued subspecies are empty. It could be the case they were never collected, or they have gone missing during the years. All colours are badly faded. Greens have turned into shades of brown and petal colours have faded. Only plant that has kept atleast some of the colour is purple-loosestrife. There’s still some shades of purple and lilac left on it. All samples are carefully marked with information about the location, date and names. I apologize the yellow hue on photos. This time of year the electric light makes all the photos yellowish. But perhaps that suits the photos after all.<\/p>\n
